Colorado 2024 Rankings Update

Josh Reynolds
Colorado State Director

With just over a month as scouting director for Colorado, I have had the pleasure of seeing some good baseball from the boys of The Centennial State. Now that summer baseball is officially over, and we are preparing for fall baseball, it is time to update the 2024 class official rankings.

The Top 3

Mitch Haythorn RHP / Eaton , CO / 2024

The new number one ranked player in the state was the Most Valuable Pitcher at the 2022 Future Games (2 IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 5K) with a fastball at 86-89, top 90. He mixed in a change-up at 81-84 and arguably showed the best breaking ball at the event. The slider was 76-78, touching 80, and a real swing and miss pitch he could throw at any time.

Athan Kroll RHP / Valor Christian , CO / 2024

Shooter Hunt: PBR Vice President of Scouting says, "Athan has a short quick arm, works downhill, starter profile with much more in the tank. He carries himself with a confident presence." The 6 foot 4, 180-pounder was 88-90 (2439 spin) with his fastball, change-up at 83 (1651 spin), and a mid 70's curveball during his latest outing in San Diego.

Trey Gregory-Alford RHP / Coronado, CO / 2024

He opened many eyes on the national scene with his two-inning appearance at the Future Games. The 6 foot 5, 220-pound pitcher flashed his fastball at 89-92, topping at 93.3. His four-pitch mix also includes a change-up (83-5), a curveball (77-80), and a slider (81-85). His stuff was electric, and he repeats well for his size. His ceiling is high.

Additions to the Top 10

Cole Jenkins SS / Chaparral , CO / 2024

He enters the top 10 after being a top performer at the Futures Games. He played at a high level against some of the best arms in the country. He plays the game hard, has baseball IQ, and creates runs when on base. While also showing that he can stay up the middle defensively.

Dane Most 3B / Broomfield, CO / 2024

The 6 foot 1, 190-pound corner infielder is strong and generates good bat speed  (92 exit velocity). He has excellent bat-to-ball skills, and he has hit at all levels. He is one of the top bats in the 24 Class.

The Newcomers

Logan Reid LHP / Cherokee Trail , CO / 2024

The 6-foot, 170-pound pitcher, stood out at the CO State Games. His fastball sat 79-82 from a three-quarter arm slot. He flashed a curveball and a slider in the 63-65 range, but his change-up was his best offspeed. He could throw it in any count and kept his fastball arm speed.

Tony Slizowski OF / Legend High School, CO / 2024

5 foot 8, 145-pound outfielder was another standout at the CO State Games. He showed a good approach at the plate, ran a 7.09 - 60, and had a position velocity of 83.
