The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Here is a look at the action from around the state from yesterday. 

Douglas County 5 Grand Junction 3
Douglas County’s 2019 Murphy Gienger went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Santa Clara commit Case Williams went 2 for 3 with an RBI and pitched 6 innings allowing just 1 earned run to go along with 10 strike outs to lead Douglas County to their win on Thursday. 

Legend 4 Valor 3
Legend jumped out early taking a 2 to 0 lead after the first inning, and then had to score 2 in the 7th, and hold off Valor in the bottom of the 7th to win their game on Thursday.  Legend’s 2020 Caleb Albaugh went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and 2019 Colorado-Colorado Springs commit  Caleb Stubbings went 3 for 3 and scored a run.  For Valor, 2020 Zain Zinicola went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Smoky Hill 11 Cherokee Trail 7
Smoky Hill scored runs in every inning on Thursday to down Cherokee Trail in their second league contest.  Smoky Hill’s 2020 Dylan McKee had a huge game going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI’s and 2019 Colin Richey went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.  For Cherokee Trail Ryan Muniz went 1 for 2, scored a run, and drove in 2.

Cherry Creek 8 Mullen 7
After being beat 23 to 9 on Tuesday, the Mustangs came out and made a game of it on Thursday.  Mullen had the lead going into the bottom of the 7th 6 to 5, but gave up 2 runs to lose the game.  The Bruins 2020 Ben Perla had a big game going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, for the Mustangs 2019 Evan Malloy had a great game going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.

Grandview 8 Arapahoe 3
Grandview swept the Warriors in their 2 game set this week.  The Wolves were led by; 2019 Peter Goldy went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Isaac Smith who was also 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  On the bump for the Wolves 2019 Josh Hojnowski did a great job going 5 innings allowing just 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 2 strike outs.

Chaparral 5 Rock Canyon 4
Chaparral took a 5 to 2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th and then had to hold on after Rock Canyon put up 2 in the bottom of the 7th to win this league game on Thursday.  2020 Christian Carew went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and 2019 University of Arkansas commit Bryce Matthews went 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs, and pitcher 2019 Preston Tenney did a great job on the mound going 6 innings allowing just 5 hits and 0 earned runs to go along with 6 K’s for Chaparral.  For Rock Canyon, 2020 Justin Petterle was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a long ball and 2020 Elliot Herrmann went 2 for 4 with an RBI. 

Legacy 10 Pomona 0
Legacy came out strong scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first to set the tone for the game and went on to win this game in 5 innings.  Legacy’s 2019 Blake Labuda had a huge game going 3 for 3, scoring 2 runs, driving in 3 runs and taking 1 deep, and 2020 Chase Esplin went 2 for 2 with 4 RBI’s.  On the mound for Legacy, 2019 Dylan Grierson went the 5 innings allowing just 2 hits to go along with 10 strike outs.

Silver Creek 9 Mountain View 4
Led by 2019 Spencer Rich who was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s, and 2020 Michael Wegleitner who was 2 for 2, scoring 2 runs, and driving in another 2, Silver Creek won big over Mountain View on Thursday.

Pueblo County 13 Lamar 6
Pueblo County put up a 6 spot in the bottom of the 2nd inning and never looked back in their win on Thursday.  They were led by; 2019 Ryan Downs who went 3 for 5 with 4 RBI’s and 2021 Chase Hartman who was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. 

Cheyenne Mountain 10 Discovery Canyon 0
Cheyenne Mountain came out swinging the bats on Thursday, scoring 5 runs in the 2nd and another 3 in the 3rd to win in 6 innings 10 to 0.  The Indians were led by; 2019 Donaven Jackson he went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and 2020 Grant Mondejar who was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  On the mound 2020 Devin Dodson threw 4 innings allowing just 1 hit to go along with 6 K’s. 

Canon City 11 Mitchell 1
Canon City came out smoking in the 1st scoring 6 runs, and ended up winning in just 5 innings on Thursday.  Canon City’s 2022 Alex Mitchell was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Alex Erickson was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s, on the bump for Canon City, 2019 Ben Marushack allowed just 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 9 Mitchell hitters.

Lewis-Palmer 17 Sand Creek 6
Lewis Palmer was leading the game after 6 innings 10 to 6, but in the 7th they put up a huge number scoring 7 runs to put the game out of reach for Sand Creek.  Lewis Palmer was led by; 2019 Evan Walsh who had a monster day at the plate going 5 for 5, scoring 3 times, and driving in 3 runs.  2019 Air Force Academy commit Jason Shuger was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Carson Trumpold was 1 for 5 but had 3 RBI’s to help the Rangers. 

Windsor 10 Broomfield 4
For Windsor 2019 Braden Martinez was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, 2019 Isaac Morfin was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Chase Hinson was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s in their win over Broomfield on Thursday.
