The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Here is a look at the action from around the state from yesterday. 

Legend 15 Lakewood 4

After 2 innings, neither team had scored a run, but in the top of the 3rd, Legend went off scoring 5 runs, then added runs in every inning from that point on to win the game in a big way on Tuesday.  Legend had some major performances from,  2019 Oregon State commit Justin Boyd went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and a dinger. 2020  Caleb Albaugh who went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. 2019 Mesa University commit  Kian Manmano who was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI’s and a long ball, and 2019 University of Kentucky commit  Hank Bard had 2 RBI’s with a dinger as well.

Fort Collins 7 Mountain View 6

Mountain View was leading 6 to 2 after 4 innings, but then in the bottom of the 5th Fort Collins scored 2 runs to put it at 6 to 4, and then added 3 winning runs in the bottom of the 6th to win on Tuesday.  2019 Blake Templeton went 3 for 4 scoring 3 runs, and 2020 Logan Snyder went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Lambkins.  For Mountain View, 2019 Nate Vondy went 1 for 4, had 3 RBI’s, and hit a long ball.

Chaparral 10 Arvada West 0

Chaparral jumped out early scoring 2 in the top of the first, and then scored in every inning but the 3rd to 10 run Arvada West on Tuesday.  Chaparral pitcher, 2019 University of Northern Colorado commit Iain Isdale went 4 2/3 innings, allowing just 1 hit, 0 runs, had 2 base on balls, and 3 strike outs.  At the plate 2020 Jack Click went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Christian Carew went 1 for 4 but had 2 RBI’s.

Regis 5 Legacy 0

On Tuesday, Regis beat Legacy at home, by scoring 1 in the first, 3 in the 3rd and 1 in the 5th inning.  Regis starting pitcher 2019 Norte Dame commit  Brent DiBiase threw 4 innings of shutout baseball, giving up just 1 hit to go along with 6 strike outs.  At the plate for Regis 2019 Samuel Doubet went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. 

Grandview 6 Arapahoe 2

With the game tied at 1 each after 5 innings the Wolves bats came to life and scored 2 in the 6th and another 3 in the 7th to win their first league win.  The Wolves were led by, 2020 Chris Bollefer who was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2019 Jayden Martinez who was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  On the mound for Grandview, 2020 Garrett Lippold threw a complete game allowing just 3 hits 1 earned run and 4 strike outs.  For Arapahoe 2020 Spye Turnbeaugh went 6 strong innings allowing just 5 hits, 1 earned run, and had 8 strike outs.

Smoky Hill 8 Cherokee Trail 6

Cherokee Trail came out hot scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning, but then Smoky Hill caught fire and scored 6 in the bottom of the 5th and added the winning runs in the bottom of the 6th to win their first league game on Tuesday.  Smoky Hill hitters, 2020 Diego Velasquez was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2019 Colin Richey was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.  For the Cougars pitcher 2020 Ethan Sloan threw 4 no hit, no run baseball to go along with 4 strike outs.

 

Mountain Vista 17 Dakota Ridge 5

Mountain Vista came out smoking, scoring big number in every inning but the 1st to beat up on Dakota Ridge Tuesday.  Mountain Vista had some guys go off, 2019 University of Minnesota commit Sam Ireland hit a long ball and had 2 RBI’s, 2019 Zack Hoff went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI’s, 2019 Washington State commit Drew Stahl was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI’s, and 2020 Aidan Smith was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s.  For Dakota Ridge 2019 Air Force Academy commit Ryan Stohr was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Ponderosa 4 Pomona 3

Ponderosa jumped out to an early 4 to 0 lead and then had to hang on to beat Pomona. Pomona added a run in the bottom of the 6th, but fell short in the 7th only scoring 2 runs.  Ponderosa’s 2019 Tyler Shelley went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and he also pitched going 6 1/3 innings giving up just 3 hits to go along with 11 strike outs.

Broomfield 7 Holy Family 1

Broomfield waited until the 4th inning to get after it with the bats, but then they scored in every inning starting with a 3 run 4th.  The Eagles were led by, 2019 Preston May who went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a home run, on the mound for the Eagles 2019 Regis University commit Zach Macosko went 6 strong innings giving up just 2 hits, 0 earned runs and 6 K’s.

Evergreen 19 Highlands Ranch 3

Evergreen came out smoking hot scoring 3 in the top of the first and 9 in the top of the 2nd, to put this game away early on Tuesday.  Evergreen’s, 2019 Bryce Pearson had a HUGE game at the plate going 3 for 4, scoring 3 runs, driving in 9 RBI’s, to go along with 2 home runs.

St. Mary’s 3 Littleton 2

2020 Anthony Depner went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and 2019 Edwin Romo pitched 6 1/3 inning giving up 4 hits, 2 earned runs to go along with 4 strike outs to lead St. Mary’s to their win on Tuesday.

Cheyenne Mountain 17 Discovery Canyon 8

Going into the top of the 5th inning Cheyenne Mountain held a narrow lead at 7 to 5, but then in the top of that inning they exploded for 8 runs and never looked back.  For Cheyenne Mountain 2019 Donaven Jackson went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s, 2022 Denton Damgaard went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, and 2020 Cam Buckler went 3 for 3 with 5 RBI’s.  For Discovery Canyon, 2020 Garrett Behm went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2021 Hunter Lindell went 1 for 2 with a long ball.

Chatfield 6 Erie 5

Chatfield was losing this game 5 to 4 going into the bottom of the 6th inning but were able to push across 2 runs to win this game on Tuesday.  Chatfield’s 2019 Doane College commit Luke LaChance went 1 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Garrett Levesque went 1 for 2 with a home run.  For Erie Gavin Mendoza was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a home run, also Benji Havener was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.
