Colorado Fall Prospect Games MIF Analysis

The Fall Prospect Games took place on September 22nd at Regis University.  Prospects were on hand for the one day event that included individual evaluations and a game.  Players from the 2019-2022 classes were on hand and did not disappoint during this event.

Over the next week, we will break down individual performances from the Fall Prospect games.  We began our look at the catching position and now the middle infield position.


Colorado Fall Prospect Games MIF Analysis

Macy Barnhart SS / OF / Lutheran High School, CO / 2021

6-foot-1, 165-pound right hand hitting SS/OF who ran a 7.71 60. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride. Simple swing, hands work direct to the baseball, flashed easy pop, loose hands. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is long from a high ¾ slot, showed good hands and quick glove work. 72 mph across the diamond.

 

 

 

Riley Feddema SS / RHP / Peak to Peak High School, CO / 2021

5-foot-9, 160-pound right hand hitting SS/RHP who ran a 7.50 60. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, loads hands back on a quick lift and place stride. Flashed hard contact at times, long level path, 78 mph exit velocity from the tee. Athletic in the field showing smooth fielding actions. Above average glove to hand transfer and a short high ¾ arm. Arm played at 71 mph.

 

 

 

Luke Rooney RHP / SS / Regis Catholic , WI / 2020

6-foot-1, 170-pound switch hitting SS/RHP who ran a 7.32 60. At the plate his stance and swing mirror each other. Open stance and high leg kick to come square. Hands drop slightly on the load and swing path is uphill. Good gap to gap power and exit velocity was 85 mph. Defensively he works well through the ball. Hands are smooth and arm is accurate across the diamond. Arm played at a showcase best 85 mph. Drop and drive pitcher on the mound. Arm is long and over the top with good extension out front. Arm speed stays consistent on all pitches. Fastball was 79 mph with late run in the zone. He added a 60-62 mph curve with tight spin and 11/5 shape.

 

 

 

Jacob Thompsen SS / RHP / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2020

6-foot-1, 158-pound right hand hitting SS/RHP who ran a 7.50 60. Strong athletic hitter at the plate hitting from a balanced wide stance. Lift and place stride and level path through the zone. Hands have good whip and ball carries well into the gaps. Exit velocity was 77 mph from the tee. Defensively he moves well and fields through the ball. Glove is above average and arm is short and accurate across the diamond. Arm played at 76 mph. Simple set up on the mound with a slight drop and drive motion on the delivery. Arm is long and from a high ¾ slot. Fastball has good life and sat 82-86 mph with late run. Near fastball arm speed on his secondary pitches. Curve sat 65-67 mph with sharp 11/5 break and his change was 72-74 mph with late sink.

 

 

 

Andrew Zamborelli 2B / SS / Lewis Palmer , CO / 2022

A 5-foot-7, 140-pound right hand hitting MIF who ran an 8.75 60. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, average balance. Path is long and level, pull side approach, 65 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively he is sound and takes a good route to the ball. Arm is long and high ¾ with accuracy. Arm played at 61 mph.
