The other day we began our positional analysis of each position from the Colorado Prospect Games starting with the outfielders, corners, and catchers. Today we cover the middle infielders. Players are listed in alphabetical order:

Riley Corneilo, SS/RHP, Pine Creek, 2019 (Texas Christian)
6-Foot-2, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall balanced stance. Hands start a little lower then last time we saw him. Generates good bat speed by swinging down to the ball, and has slightly uphill path. Good extension through finish. Good rotation on lower half. Gap to gap power. 89 mph exit velo off the tee. Ran a 7.2 60 time. Arm is electric at both short and on the mound. At short glove to hand separation works good. Tall lanky short stop with good range to both glove hand and back hand sides. 88 mph across diamond with accuracy. On mound Cornelio has athletic frame, and arm works great. In two innings struck out 6. Delivery is very simple and explodes to the mound. Very good leg drive. Fastball sat 87-88 and will easily increase with age. Could project to be mid 90's going into college especially since he's only 160 pounds. One of the top prospects in the country in the 2019 class.

Jonah Cox, SS/2B, Broomfield, 2020
6-foot, 169 pounds. Bats and throws right. Advanced hitter for his age. Really like swing. Stance is tall, and load is smooth back. Generates good bat speed through the zone, and bat stays in hitting zone for long time. Does have some pull tendencies at times right now, but meets the ball out in front with authority for a freshman. Generated a 84 mph exit velocity off tee.  Like his size as well. At short has good hand to glove exhange, and quick release across diamond with accuracy. Has very good range glove hand side, and good footwork. Was 77 mph across diamond. Top 2020 prospect in Colorado.

Colby Deaville, SS/2B, Legacy, 2017
6-foot-1, 155 pounds. Bats and throws right. Nice balanced stance at plate. Starts slightly open and with short stride closes down. Short load, and bat stays in hitting zone with good extension. Line drive hitter to both gaps. Generated 79 mph exit velo off the tee. Could increase with a little more lower half rotation. Above average range at shortstop from both sides. Like 3/4 arm slot. Gets rid of ball quick and accurate at 78 mph. Ran a 7.16 60 time. First time we have seen Deaville and will be added to next rankings. Under the radar player who can help someone at the next level.

Dru Devera, SS/OF, Broomfield, 2019
5-foot-10, 130 pounds. Bats and throws right. Has a balanced stance, has a lot of movement before load, and then really lets the ball get deep. Keeps hands inside of ball. Swing path is down and through to ball with good extension through zone. Line drive hitter through infield. Generated 76 mph exit velo off tee. Ran a 6.86 60 time. Quick actions at shortstop with quick release. Arm strength was 72 mph across infield.

Sammy Grim, SS/3B, Roosevelt, 2019
6-foot, 130 pounds. Bats left, throws right.  Still growing into body. Has a slight crouch in stance. Short load, swing is slightly uphill through zone. Bat stays in the hitting zone through extension. Good lower half. Up the middle line drive hitter. 76 mph exit velo off the tee. Throws from 3/4 arm slot from short stop. Fields ball out in front with quick release. Arm strength was 72 mph across infield. 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.9 60 time. At only 130 pounds has a lot of room to get stronger.

Cooper Jamieson, SS/2B, Mountain Vista, 2018
5-foot-11, 150 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall narrow opened stance at the plate. Short stride to close down, small load back and drops hands down to ball, lets ball get deep in the zone. Line drive up the middle approach. Generated a 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. Fields ball out in front at shortstop, feet underneath and high 3/4 arm slot. 70 mph across infield with accuracy. Ran a 7.34 60 time.

Sam Low, SS/2B, Chatfield, 2019
5-foot-9, 135 pounds. Bats and throws right.  Tall narrow, slightly opened stance. Leg kick stride to close down. Small load, drops hands down to ball, short swing through zone, line drives up middle. Generated a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Showcased soft hands at shortstop. Good fundamentals. Release from 3/4 arm slot. 68 mph across infield. Ran a 7.8 60 time.

Cooper Marks, SS/RHP, Arapahoe, 2019
6-foot, 155 pounds. Bats left, throws right. Balanced, wide stance at plate. Short stride and load back. Hands short to the ball.  Swing is slightly uphill, line drive hitter to both gaps. Generated a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Over the top arm slot from shortstop. Lanky player who is going to grow a lot more. 70 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.2 60 time. Like projection as pitcher. All legs on the mound. Same arm slot from mound, release is short back. Hides ball well. Fastball sat a 74-76 mph with potential to add a lot more velocity as he gets stronger. Curveball had 12/6 spin at 61-63 mph.

Tyler Mata Lloyd, 2B/SS, Rocky Mountain, 2018
5-foot-4, 120 pounds. Bats and throws right. Opened stance, soft load back. Closes down with medium stride towards ball. Swing is slightly uphill, and generates good bat speed. Bottom hand dominant. Lower half works well. Has a tendency to want to lift the ball at times, but projects to be a prototypical leadoff hitter. Generated a 83 mph exit velocity off the tee. Good actions at shortstop, soft hands, fields out front. Throws from a quick 3/4 arm slot across diamond with accuracy at 76 mph. Ran a 7.19 60 time which he can get under 7 at some point as he gets stronger.

Zack Medina, SS/RHP, Highlands Ranch, 2019
5-foot-9, 180 pounds. Bats and throws right.  Tall narrow stance at plate, hands load down and back. Swing is level through zone. Above average bat speed through zone with good extension through ball. Has some good power potential. 89 mph exit velcoty off the tee. Needs to work on balance in lower half. Strong arm in infield and depends on it. 81 mph across diamond. Probably projects as a corner. On the mound has simple delivery. Square and in-line to the plate. Short arm slot back and comes at you from high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball sat at 77-78, but stops arm out in front. Could add velocity if he comes all the way through. Curveball was 69-70 mph from 11/5 shape. Change was same velocity.
