Scouting Report

2-25-18

6-foot-4, 215-pound RHP/1B. On the mound the right hander stands tall with a lightning quick delivery.  Lots of moving parts that come in line on the landing with extension out front.  Arm wraps slightly and shows above average speed. Drives hard to the plate with his lower half and maintains balance.  Fastball was 87-91 mph with hard arm side run.  Slider was 79-81 and showed as his best secondary pitch.  Tight spin and sharp break away from the right hand hitter. Change was 80-81 with late sink.  In the field he moves well, showed good athletic actions and good feet around the bag.  Throws from a high ¾ arm slot at 84 mph with accuracy.  At the plate he is slightly open with a double tap to launch the swing.  Strong lower half through the zone.  Swing is uphill with good extension out front.  Exit velocity was 90 mph off the tee.

3-1-17
6-foot-4, 225 pounds. Big strong pitcher on the mound. Big body. Some extra things to get out of the way to be on time. Herky jerky motion with a little torque in hips. Lands in line towards plate. Arm is quick from high 3/4 arm slot. Power fastball. Because of deceptive delivery fastball is on you faster. Comes in at 85-87 mph. Touches 88. On slider drops down to more of a 3/4 arm slot. Has late depth at 80-81 mph. Curve is 70-71 mph. 90 plus potential.

8-6-16

A 6-foot-4, 225-pound right hand pitcher. Very deceptive delivery. Starting to grow into body. Starts off tall and square, and has a quick motion. Has a hitch when he separates hand from glove causing deception. More over the top now then high 3/4.  He lands in-line with the plate and falls off to the first base side on his finish. Fastball velocity has increased every time we have seen him, and now is consistently 86-87 touching 88.  Slider has good depth at 69 mph. Has some time to clean up some mechanics, and projects as a 90+ arm.

1.31.16
A 6-foot-4, 195-pound right hand pitcher who is a presence on the mound with his 6-4 frame.  He stand tall and works from a quick motion, he throws from a high ¾ arm slot and does a nice job of keeping arm speed up on all pitches.  He lands in-line with the plate and falls off to the first base side on his finish.  He featured an 86 MPH fastball with movement away from the right hand hitter.  He added a 67 MPH curve with sharp 11/5 break and a 70 MPH change that works down in the zone. Identified with the best power fastball for the UCI.
8-8-15

6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Bats and throws right. Chandler is a big projectable body with a lot of potential. Chandler comes at you with a fast, herky, jerkey motion. He can throw even harder if he gets more out of his lower half. Arm wraps back behind back, but is very loose and works well with body at a high 3/4 arm slot.  Chandler throws a heavy fastball that sat at 84-85 mph and a lot of movement into right handers. Falls off to first after delivery. Curveball had 11/5 shape sitting at 70-72 mph with good tilt. We love Chandler's upside and has the frame to develop a fastball that sits in the low 90's.
