SCOUTING REPORT

8-5-17

6-foot-1, 165-pound right hand hitting RHP/OF.  At the plate he starts open with a long stride to come square.  His load is smooth to the back side and weight transfer is explosive on the swing.  Swing path is level and hands whip through the zone.  Exit velocity was 87 MPH.  On the mound his motion is quick and mechanically sound.  From balance he drives hard to the plate.  He has a quick loose arm and delivers from an over the top arm slot.  Fastball was 81 MPH with good location down in the zone.  He used two off-speed pitches to make his fastball jump more.  Curveball was 73 MPH with sharp 11/5 break and he added a 73 MPH change with late sink in the zone.

1-29-17
6-foot-1, 165 pounds. Bats and throws right. Square and inline to the plate then falls to 1B. Wiry frame, loose arm. Hides ball well. Throws from over the top arm slot because tilts spine. Would even be more effective if stayed square and come from high 3/4. Good velo for a 2020. Fastball lived at 79-82. Changeup and curveball lived at 70-71. Both same arm speed as fastball. Threw strikes. At the plate has open stance, short stride. Slight uphill swing, bottom hand finish. Gap to gap. Produced 85 mph exit velo off the tee. In the OF had solid fundamentals. Charged ball aggressively. Threw 77 mph. Ran a 4.6 home to first. Prospect to follow.
