Mike Anderson
Colorado Scouting Director

LaSalle, CO--  On August  22, 2021, PBR Colorado held the Colorado Top Prospects Games at Big Foot Turf and the Field of Dreams in LaSalle, Colorado.  This showcase and games gave Colorado’s Upperclass another opportunity to shine after a modified high season and shortened club season.  The 2022’s and 23’s came all 4 corners of the state.  Colorado’s 2024’s and 2025s sought an opportunity to put their name on the radar for collegiate recruiting and identification.

Top Players from this event will have opportunities to be invited to future invite-only events such as the PBR Colorado Preseason All-State, the PBR Future and Junior Future Games

Today, we take a look top performers and performances from our Upperclass Arms:

2023, Reid Johansen, RHP, Cherry Creek  Long lean lever, Reid demonstrated his potential with a FB 83 and a range 81-83  High ¾ release, CB/SL 72-74.  Will benefit by added strength, very projectable.  FB has some Arm Side Run, created ground balls.

2022, Tyler P Smith, RHP/OF, Ponderosa 2Way with a strong performance on the mound.  Shows strength as hitter with lift and loft in swing. Strong rotational acceleration and max effort swing.  Exit Velo 94.8  As converting RHP, FB up to 90 with range 86-90.  Quick arm with max effort delivery.  Raw talent with room for development.  More Velo in there!

2022, Tyler Mejia, LHP, Mountain Vista,   Big Props to Tyler for fighting through rehab from Tommy John.  Mejia showed his previous TOP PROSPECT form with a FB at 86.8.  Stayed in the 84-86 range.  Great feel for his CB 70-72 and has a PLUS pitch with his CH 77.  Room to grow and add strength.  Very High Ceiling.

2022, Ryder Mancuso, RHP, Palisade   Raw and developing talent.  Still refining his delivery, big long levers with deception.  FB up to 85.9, with a range of 81-85.  Showed Arm Side Run and movement.  CB 77, CH 78.

2022, Troy Benko, RHP, D’Evelyn,  Big Body 6’6” with long lean levers as RHP. Benko showed a FB up to 85.3, and stayed in 84-85 range.  Very projectable.  Room for refining delivery and development of OS.  Like his potential, late bloomer.
