The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Rocky Mountain 5 Dakota Ridge 2

Both teams scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, and then the Lobos added 3 in the bottom of the 3rd and held on to win on Saturday.  The Lobos were led by, 2019 Ben Knauer who was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and pitcher 2019 Fort Hays State commit Jake Campbell’s complete game allowing 6 hits, 2 earned run, and 6 strike outs.  Dakota Ridges 2020 Mason Sauter was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.

Cherry Creek 8 Grandview 4

Visiting Cherry Creek scored 2 in the top of the 3rd and the Wolves answered with 2 of their own, but then the Bruins added another 2 in the 4th, 5th, and 7th to win their league game on Saturday.  The Bruins were led by, 2019 Regis University commit Alec Adolph who was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, 2020 University of Virginia commit Jack Moss who was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and 2019 TJ Brown who went 2 for 3 with an RBI.  For the Wolves 2020 Chris Bollefer was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. 

Chatfield 5 Monarch 4

With the scored tied at 1 a piece after 3 innings, both teams got after it in the 5th.  Monarch put up a 3 spot and Chatfield answered with 4 and then held on to win on Saturday 5 to 4.  Chatfield’s 2020 Landon Gaber went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, 2020 Matt Gelwick went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Jack Wells went deep and had an RBI.  For Monarch, 2019 Occidental College commit Ben Kowalski was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and 2020 Sean Siedem was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s as well. 

Cherokee Trail 9 Overland 1

Cherokee Trail finally got a win on Saturday.  The Cougars came out hot scoring 5 runs in the 1st two innings, and added another 4 in the 4th and 5th innings.  Cherokee Trail was led by, 2019 Will Matos III who was 1 for 1 with 2 RBI’s and 2021 Beau Baldensperger who was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  On the mound for the Cougars, 2019 Kellen Cox threw 6 strong innings allowing just 5 hits, 0 runs and striking out 5.

Pomona 6 Mountain Range 2

Mountain Range was leading the game 2 to 1 heading into the 5th, but Pomona got hot and scored 4 in the bottom of the 5th, and another run in the 6th to beat Mountain Range.  2020 Cole Stevens for Pomona had a great game going 1 for 3 with 4 RBI’s and a bomb, and on the bump 2021 Brady Ritzmann threw a complete game giving up 1 run earned to go along with 4 strike outs.

Smoky Hill 4 Arapahoe 1

In a pitching battle on Saturday, Smoky Hill finally broke out in the top of the 6th scoring 4 runs, and Arapahoe scored their only run in the bottom of the 7th, in their league game.  Both pitchers did an outstanding job, for Smoky Hill, starter 2020 Diego Velasquez went 6 innings allowing just 3 hit and no runs, he was also 1 for 3 with an RBI.  For Arapahoe, 2019 Max Wilson went 7 innings allowing just 2 earned runs to go along with 6 K’s.  At the plate for the Buffaloes 2019 Eastern Arizona JC commit Cam Kennedy was 1 for 3 with and RBI, 2020 Dylan McKee was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

 

 

Eaglecrest 4 Mullen 3

In a well-pitched league game on Saturday, Eaglecrest got on the board first scoring 4 in the bottom of the 4th, but Mullen did not give up by scoring 3 in the top of the 7th inning.  2019 Doane College commit Evan Mason for Eaglecrest went 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and 7 strike outs.  For Mullen 2022 Trevor Moore went 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 earned runs and 7 strike outs.  2019 Dawson Macomber was 1 for 2 and 2 RBI’s for the Raptors.

Chaparral 12 Grand Junction Central 0

Chaparral came out hot scoring runs in all for innings to beat Grand Junction Central on Saturday.  They were led by, 2019 Ryan McKown who was 1 for 1, scoring 3 runs, driving in 2, and launching a long ball, and 2109 University of Arkansas commit Bryce Matthews who was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s.  Pitching for the Wolverines was 2019 Grady Cole who went 5 innings allowing just 2 hits and 4 strike outs.

Mead 6 Roosevelt 1

Mead took an early 4 to 0 lead after the 1st inning and then added another 2 in the top of the 7th to win Saturday.  Mead was led by, 2020 Nick Jacobs who went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and a bomb, 2019 Tanner Leise who was 3 for 4, a long ball, and 2 RBI’s, and 2020 Brady Veltien who was also 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.

Cheyenne Mountain 14 Mesa Ridge 1

Cheyenne Mountain came out swinging it on Saturday scoring 9 runs in the top of the 1st inning and never looked back.  For the Indians, 2019 Aaron Berkhoff had a huge day at the plate going 2 for 3 with 4 RBI’s, scoring 4 runs, and hitting a yard ball.  2020 Cam Buckler was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, and 2020 Michael Ellis was 1 for 2 with 3 RBI’s.

Ponderosa 5 D’Evelyn 1

Ponderosa scored 4 of their 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning on Saturday.  Mustang pitchers 2019 Ty Lukins went 4 2/3 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 earned run, and 2019 Jake Reker went 2 1/3 innings allowing just 3 hits and 0 runs. 

Silver Creek 7 Mountain View 3

Silver Creek had control of this game from the beginning scoring 4 runs in the first 2 innings.  Silver Creek was led by, 2020 Villanova commit Cam Hassert was 1 for 4, with a home run and 2 RBI’s, and 2019 Spencer Rich  was 3 for 3, scoring 2 runs and driving in 1.

The Classical Academy (TCA) 11 Discovery Canyon 8

TCA’s 2019 Noah Lasecki had a huge day at the plate hitting 2 home runs, going 2 for 4 with 5 RBI’s and 2021 Alex Moore was 3 for 4 scoring 4 runs and driving in another 2.

Green Mountain 10 Riverdale Ridge 2

Green Mountain was leading the game 3 to 2 after 2 innings, and then exploded in the 3rd by scoring 4 runs and then never looked back on Saturday.  The Rams 2019 Matthew Hinnen was 2 for 3 with a bomb and 2 RBI’s and 2021 Darius Padilla was 1 for 2 with 3 RBI’s.  Pitching for the Rams 2020 Otis Laughlin, 2020 Matthew Morben, and 2020 Danny Wisor combined to allow just 4 hits, 2 runs and 11 strikeouts.
