DENVER ID QUICK HITS: THE South dakota prospects

Englewood, CO-  On January 23 , 2022,  PBR Colorado started the year off with the Denver Preseason ID Event at Slammers in Englewood, Colorado. The day was full of great indoor batting cage evaluations with the opportunity to get outside on turf for our defensive evaluations.

Our staff strategically hosts Preseason ID events throughout the state in search of players who have taken advantage of the offseason, identifying new prospects to add to our follow lists or players our staff is already familiar with who are on the rise. This event gave a perfect opportunity to secure invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events such as the Centennial State Games, West Coast, and PBR Future Games and Jr. Future Games.

Today, our focus is on 2 athletes from Post 22 American Legion program from South Dakota.  “The Land of the Plenty” gave us a glimpse at two top prospects:

Harrison Good OF / 3B / Sturgis , SD / 2023

Well built with a solid base and gradual load. Attacking style as a right-handed hitter with strong rotational acceleration. He stays balanced at the plate with plus bat speed. Demonstrated a consistent line drive path with a top exit velocity of 93.7 mph.  The South Dakota prospect is an athlete who can play all three outfield positions. Arm was up to 83 mph from the outfield and he had a 4.06 home to first. Great set of tools to develop and a strong current skill set.

Peyton Tipton SS / 2B / Home School , SD / 2023

Tipton is a quick twitch athlete who demonstrated strength and speed. The South Dakota product flies around the bases with a 3.79 home to first! He has a narrow, open stance, stays stacked and has strong rotational acceleration. His hands stay connected and he also has the ability to keep hands inside on the fastball! Great event barrel contact with top exit velocity of 93.8 mph. Good lateral movement as a defender with hands playing through the ball. 76 mph from the middle infield.
