Valor                 6
Fairview          4
Valor jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first inning and never relinquished the lead and held on for a 6-4 victory over Fairview.  Fairview got one run in the first and then Vanderbilt commit 2021, Graysen Carter started for Fairview and threw to only 7 hitters, giving up one hit,  striking out one and walking four before he was replaced.
Carter worked at 90, touched 93 on numerous occasions.  He is a big, strong athletic pitcher who has a fluid delivery and creates velocity with a arm that works well and command was the only issue for Grayson, his breaking ball was well above average at 76-78.
For Valor, 2021, Radek Birkholz(Notre Dame) was outstanding, giving up 5 hits three runs walking only two and striking out 11.  Rad is very athletic with a high energy delivery where he attacks the strike zone and demonstrates outstanding pitchability.  He has a high spin rate which makes his breaking balls very effective and maintains life on this fastball.  He was replaced after 6 2/3 innings by Tyler Larson and then 2021 Deacon Nagy.  Radek  also contributed a monster double  to left field.  2021, TJ Meyn RHP (Sewanee Commit) also had two hits for Valor.
Fairview made it very interesting in the bottom of the 7th by loading the bases with two outs but were unable to capitalize.
