Stat Rat:
The Raiders finished the 2016 season with a team 4.45 ERA, this number was high for the amount of fire power they had on the mound.  This number will need to drop in 2017.

Bottom Line:
The 2016 season must have seemed short for Regis who prior to losing in the District Round was coming off of back to back Final 8 appearances including a trip to the 5A State Title game in 2014 where they lost to Rocky Mountain.  This is a program that consistently finds themselves as one of the final teams standing and 2017 should be no different.  Look for the Raiders to turn to No. 28 overall and No. 1 CO 2017 Caleb Sloan to lead the way.  The Texas Christian Commit will take the ball for the Raiders and look to improve on his 2-0 record with 20 innings pitched and 24 K’s.  At the plate, Austin Chouinard, .306 with 19 hits and 11 RBI, Jimmy Holinger with 15 hits and 20 RBI and Matt Crater who hit .417 in 8 games will be called upon to power the Regis offense.  Outfielders, Jake Heimlicher and Tyler Gayle should also see significant action in 2017.  The 2017 Raiders will need to improve on a team ERA of 4.45 last year, if they lower this number, the ceiling is high for a program that knows what to do when May rolls around.
