Q&A with Walker Martin

Q: You attended the Future Games in Georgia. When you left the event and headed back to Colorado, what was your overall impression of the event?

Martin: The Future Games was a special  event! I had a ton of fun and got to play with a lot of great players! I would definitely recommend this event.

Q: What was the recruiting trail like for you, before you attended the Future Games? Were colleges interested early on and how did you get on the college coaches radars?

Martin: Mine started the summer of 2020 at the Future Games. The process got even busier this past summer.  It was a crazy year for me and my recruiting process. A lot of time calling coaches and developing a relationship with them all. We did a lot touring on different campuses. How I got on their radars was by performing well and just doing what I do best.

Q: You are committed to Arkansas, how did you connect with them and what was it like talking to their staff? Did you visit, and if so how was that?

Martin: The first time I talked to Arkansas was actually after we won the state championship for our high school. After that, they saw me at a bunch of big tournaments and resulted in finally offering on my official visit. Really loved my time there on my visit! Definitely a place I am glad to call home in a couple  years.

Q: What made you choose Arkansas over other schools that gave you offers?

Martin: Arkansas just checked all the boxes off for me and my family! I chose them because I do think going though this program is going to get the best of me and help develop me to get to the next level.

Q: Now that you have finished your recruitment process, do you have any advise for young '23s, ‘24s, 25’s or even ‘26s who have just started this process?

Martin: I would say have fun with it! The recruiting process is already stressful enough so, just enjoy it and take it all in. Lastly, pray about it and ask for guidance from God.

Q: Lastly, out of all the PBR events you have attended in your career, what has PBR meant to you during your time playing baseball in Colorado?

Martin: PBR Colorado has meant a lot to me and what they have done for me! They are truly making  Colorado into a baseball state.   Mike Anderson is a great resource for baseball players in Colorado.  I can’t thank him and PBR enough.
