Prep Baseball Report brought you into the world of Eaton Baseball.  A tradition rich program that produces quality baseball players and young men.  We continue our look at committed players this week by focusing on a few players from Eaton who will take their skills to the next level at the conclusion of the spring season.  Prep Baseball recently caught up with 5-foot-11, 150 pound, Right Handed Pitcher and Infielder Lane Greiman on his commitment to Otero Junior College.

PBR: Why did you choose Otero J.C.?lane

Greiman:  Great campus as well as baseball program, I wanted to go to a place where I could make an impact for them.

PBR: Where did Otero first see you compete?

Greiman:  Not sure, just contacted my coaches and I visited and worked out and was fortunate enough to get an offer.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Greiman:  Not sure again, just plan on working hard and seeing what I can do to help out OJC.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help Otero?

Greiman:  Determination and hard work, I plan on working hard with my teammates and working for a common goal.

PBR:  What advice would you give about the recruiting process?

Greiman:  Take your time and visit every school and make a decision based on what you wanna do.

PBR:  What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Greiman:  Winning 42 consecutive games without a loss.

PBR:  What would you say are your best assets both on and off the field that will help your team this year?

Greiman:  I work hard on and off the field, keeping my teammates determined for the goal at the end of the season. Also keeping the grades good in the classroom and hold my teammates to the same standards.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Greiman:  Family and friends who stick by me and push me to be the best I can be.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience?

Greiman:  Play for Eaton and making the Legion A state tournament for two years.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher/hitter you have faced in Colorado?

Greiman:  Devlin Granberg is the best hitter I've faced, he can hit and ball thrown to the plate and square it up. The best pitcher Brent Crampton he has great command of his fastball and off speed, he keeps you guessing at the plate.

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?

Greiman:  Individually to keep improving and work hard to have a good future next spring and for my future at OJC, as a team the goal for us is to compete and hopefully make it to the end of the season and wrap up a state championship.
