Q&A with Preseason All-State Participant: Eric Cox

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running toward 2016 with two major events.  The Preseason All-State event at Slammers South will take take place on February 28th. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will continue to introduce you to 2016 and 2017 players who have committed to this event.  Continuing our look is No.19 2017, Eric Cox, OF/RHP from Cherokee Trail High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

Cox: I play for my team and always have their backs. I'm a dedicated hustle player and love the game.  

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school? 

Cox: My dreams school would be the University of Portland or Arizona State.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?   

Cox: My best assets on the field are my size and speed. Off the field my best assets would be helping others.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career? 

Cox: The best advice I was given was to push yourself past your potential with hard work.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?

Cox: Always being in the weight room to get stronger and do mobility.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season? 

Cox: Push-ups before every game.

PBR:  What are your goals for: 

This Season: Cherokee Trail State Championship 

Two Years: Play D1 baseball

Four Years: Continue my baseball career
