Q&A with Underclass Invitational Participant Jake Gimbel

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2016 with two major events.  The Underclass Invitational event at Slammers South will take take place on January 31st. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will introduce you to 2018 and 2019 players who have committed to this event.  Continuing our look is 2019, RHP/3B,  Jake Gimbel from Columbine High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Gimbel:  I am a hard worker who always give my best for my team

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school? 
Gimbel:  TCU, I saw them play in the College World Series and liked how they prepared to win

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?  
Gimbel:   I have a 4.0 after my first semester, I am a competitor on the field, whether pitching, hitting or playing in the field I am always in the game

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career? 
Gimbel:  Relax and breathe, take one pitch at a time

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season? 
Gimbel:  Playing football for the Columbine Rebels, and when that finishes I have the former strength coach for the Colorado Rockies that helps me get into baseball shape

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season? 
Gimbel:  I don't change my sleeves for the next game if we win

PBR:  What are your goals for: 

This Season: Starting lineup for JV, maintain 4.0 GPA

Two Years:  Starting lineup on the varsity, maintain 4.0 GPA

Four Years:  Signed at a D1 to play college baseball
