Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2016 with two major events.  The Underclass Invitational event at Slammers South will take take place on January 31st. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will introduce you to 2018 and 2019 players who have committed to this event.  Continuing our look is 2018, OF, Tyler Gayle, Regis Jesuit High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Gayle:  I play with a high level of energy every time I step on the field. I play the game with quickness and speed. Wether it be running speed around bases or the quickness of tracking baseballs in the outfield I like to play fast and with energy.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?
Gayle:  My dream school to play at would be a school with a good aviation program/ high academic recognition that also has good baseball. I am very committed to my school work, with a 4.0 my grades are very important to me. Baseball is also extremely important. I would like to play at the Division 1 level and be an impact player on the team.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Gayle:  My best assets on the field are speed, batting, the ability to get a jump on a ball and track it down, energy/leadership, coachable. My best assets off the field are strong academic, outgoing, leadership, and a good sense of humor.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Gayle:  The best baseball advice I've gotten is to play the game for the love of the game. I try to follow this advice in baseball because I love this game a lot. Baseball keeps me going through rough times and no matter if I succeed or fail I have always loved this game and play it with all my heart.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?
Gayle:  My off-season routine usually consists of lifting 2-3 times a week. Hitting 4-5 times a week, and throwing twice a week.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Gayle:  My superstition is that when I do well in a game I wear the exact same thing under my uniform that I did when I performed well. I have a nice relaxed and focused routine in the batters box to get loose and time up a pitcher.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: Get recognized by college coaches and have a higher arm velocity by the end of the spring.

Two Years:  Sign to a school with a baseball program and academic program that is fit for me.

Four Years:  Be an impact player on my college team and maintain a high GPA throughout my college years.
