Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running for 2017 with two major events.  The Underclass Invitational event at Slammers South will take take place on January 29th. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will introduce you to 2019 and 2020 players who have committed to this event.  Continuing  our look is No. 17 2019, OF/RHP, Henry Rock or Fairview High School.

PBR: Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:
Rock:  I would describe myself as a hardworking, passionate player on the baseball field. I have loved the game from a young age, and I know in the back of my mind that I won't be playing it forever; someday, I'm going to have to hang up the cleats. You can count on me to be locked in every game, every inning, every at-bat, and every pitch.

PBR: What would be your dream school to play baseball at? If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?
Rock:  I wouldn't say that there's one school in particular that I am drawn to. Rather, I am interested in any school that will go for it every year. I'd certainly give an edge to any school that plays its games in a warmer weather climate!

PBR: What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?
Rock:  On the field, I am versatile. As a switch-hitter, coaches can confidently slot me in the lineup against right- and left-handed pitchers alike. I am primarily an outfielder, but I am capable of playing infield if necessary. Off the field, I'd say I'm an amiable, approachable person capable of cultivating strong friendships.

PBR: What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?
Rock:  Work as hard as you can and leave it all on the field, so one day when you're not in the game anymore, you can say you gave it everything.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?
Rock:  My coaches and teammates know me as a dedicated weightlifter. I spend a lot of the offseason pounding in the weight room with the same intensity as I would give on the baseball field.

PBR: What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?
Rock:  One thing I am superstitious about is wearing high socks/stirrups. For whatever reason, I don't feel quite right wearing long pants.

PBR: What are your goals for:

This Season: I would like to grind it out with my boys at Fairview and make it to the final eight at All-City Field.

Two Years: I would like to be a leader in the Fairview baseball program, and be committed to further my education and play baseball at the next level.

Four Years:  I would like to be earning my bachelor's degree and contributing significantly to a college baseball program.
