Q&A with Underclass Invitational Participant Tanner O'Tremba

Prep Baseball Report Colorado is ready to hit the ground running in 2016 with two major events.  The Underclass Invitational event at Slammers South will take take place on January 31st. Over the coming weeks, PBR Colorado will introduce you to 2018 and 2019 players who have committed to this event.  Beginning our look is No. 1 2018, Tanner O'Tremba, OF/RHP from Cherry Creek High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

O’Tremba: I'm a very intense player who loves to play. I've never cared about looking good and my main goal has always been to do whatever I can to help my team win. I believe it's important to be humble but at the same time work hard and be aggressive.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?

O’Tremba:
I do not have a dream school. I have several schools I am interested in playing at that have shown interest in me. Including the following in no particular order: Texas, Arizona State, Florida International, Arizona, Air Force, Oregon State, and Wichita State, Kansas, and Kentucky. It would be a privilege to play at any of these universities.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

O’Tremba:
Some of my best assets on the field would be working my hardest all the time, being humble, and doing my best to help my teammates. Off the field I am also a very hard worker, I try to be kind to others all the time, and make as big of an impact as I can in everything that I do.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

O’Tremba:
I've learned to really enjoy the game as much as you can because you only get a limited time to play. Also I've learned having a short memory is a must.

PBR: What does your off-season routine look like to prepare for the upcoming season?

O’Tremba:
I do outfielder-based workouts at Push Performance. I usually hit a little but mostly focus on getting bigger, faster, and stronger.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during the season?

O’Tremba:
I do not have a ton of superstitions but I do have a lot of routines. The night before a game I usually try to relax and listen to my favorite music. When I pitch I have a specific routine of warming up a certain way every time. My superstitions mostly are just how I warm-up and get ready for a game.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season: My goal for this season is to become a young leader. I would like to be an All-State caliber player and win a state championship. I would like to learn more and more.

Two Years: My senior year I would like to be the leader and to win a state championship. I would like to be getting ready to play at a D1 college. Again I would like to learn as much as I can about baseball. I would ask like to be drafted.

Four Years: In four years I would like to be playing D1 college ball or for a major league organization. I would also like to be a young leader again and keep learning more and more about the game.
