PBR Colorado strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

We recently did a series on the top uncommitted pop-times, 60-times, arm velos, and exit velocities. Now we are doing a series on our Top 5 overall numbers for each class.

Top 2020 Exit Velocities: 

Roger Rosengarten, Valor Christian, 1B
Exit Velocity: 89
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound right hand hitting 1B/RHP who ran a 7.83 60.  At the plate he stands tall and is an imposing site as a freshman.  He uses a long stride to get his weight moving forward and long arms to keep the bat in the hitting zone for an expanded period of time.  During the live round he hit several balls off the outfield wall.Exit velocity was 89 MPH for this event. 

Owen Best, Regis Jesuit, C/1B
Exit Velocity: 82
5-foot-10, 185 pounds, Bats left throws right. Stands tall at plate. Has some rhythm at the plate. Hands load down then up. Leg kick. Uphill swing. Has some power potential. Gets good extension through the ball and good lower half. Pull power. Generated a 82 mph exit velo off the tee. Soft hands while framing. Big body behind plate. Intriguing left-handed hitting catching prospect. Pop-times were 2.10-2.12 off off the pitcher in between innings. 72 mph down to 2nd. Ran a 8.8 60 that should go down as he grows into body.   

Jonah Cox, Broomfield, SS
Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot, 169 pounds. Bats and throws right. Advanced hitter for his age. Really like swing. Stance is tall, and load is smooth back. Generates good bat speed through the zone, and bat stays in hitting zone for long time. Does have some pull tendencies at times right now, but meets the ball out in front with authority for a freshman. Generated a 84 mph exit velocity off tee.  Like his size as well. At short has good hand to glove exchange, and quick release across diamond with accuracy. Has very good range glove hand side, and good footwork. Was 77 mph across diamond. Top 2020 prospect in Colorado.  

Craig Kenny, Regis Jesuit, C/3B
Exit Velocity: 80
5-foot-9, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Still growing into his body. Has long arms and is all legs right now. Has a balanced stance at the plate. Loads hands down, with slightly uphill swing. Gap to gap power, and has good extension through the ball. Lower half works well. Registered a 80 mph exit velo off of tee. Had a good weekend hitting at the plate. Receives well, and had a chance to be challenged at his age catching 90 plus fastballs during event. Pop-time was 2.10 - 2.16 off pitcher in between innings . Catching velo was 68. Ran a 8.4 60 time. 

Lucas Quezada, Denver School of the Arts, RHP/1B
Exit Velocity: 84
Quezada has the same leg drive and extension that has become the norm for the recent string of power arms coming out of Colorado.  He drives off his backside and gets down the mound where he almost appears to touch the catcher’s mitt from a 3/4 slot.  His fastball was recently up to 87, but sat more in the 82-84 range, and although he is still raw in some aspects (only a freshman), he shows big upside potential with a quick arm and short arm swing. The ball really seems to jump on hitters, and he is able to counter a firm fastball with a developing 64-66 curveball.  Interestingly enough, Quezada’s current high school does not have a baseball team, so college recruiters will have to wait until PBR Colorado’s Underclass Invitational or search him out on the summer circuit.
