Player Analysis Header

 

Jake Heimlicher OF / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:46 POS:8 OF Arm Velocity: 87 6-foot-4, 185-pound right hand hitting OF who ran a 4.03 home to first.  At the plate he has a wide balanced stance.  He has a high leg kick and hitch in his hands on the pitch.  Weight transfer is strong to the front side on the swing.  He showed quick hands to the ball.  Swing path is level through the zone with good extension out front after contact.  Exit velocity was 97 MPH with good bat control to all fields.  In the field he uses his 6-4 frame to cover ground quickly.  He shows smooth fielding actions and a quick transfer on the throw.  He delivers from a high ¾ arm slot.  Arm velocity was 87 MPH. Fills out the uniform well. Good looking athlete who has a lot of room to improve on already advanced skills.

 

 

Luke Bailey OF / 1B / Chaparral, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:37 POS:7 OF Arm Velocity: 85  6-foot-3, 200 pounds. Bats and throws right. First time we got a chance to see Bailey. Athletic and shows pull-side power, evident with the 3 home runs he hit in live round over left center. Slight open stance at the plate and generates good bat whip through the zone. Registered a 94 mph exit velo off a tee. In the outfield showcased a strong arm throwing 85 mph to 3B. Ran a 6.95 60 time. Player who has been off our radar but now is and will be a riser in the 2018 rankings.

 

 

Tyler Gayle OF / OF / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:48 POS:9 OF Arm Velocity: 83  6-foot-1, 175-pound right hand hitting OF who ran a 4.30 home to first.  At the plate he hits from an open stance with a slight crouch.  Stride brings him in stride and his weight forward on the swing.  He shows strong leg drive and finished on a firm front side.  Swing path is short and quick to the ball and slightly uphill.  Does a nice job of keeping the bat in the hitting zone.  Exit velocity was 91 MPH.  In the field he showed good athletic actions when moving to the ball.  He has quick feet that get him in-line on the throw.  He showed a quick transfer and delivered from a high ¾ arm slot, showcased an 83 MPH arm velocity.

 

 

Maxwell Marshall OF / OF / Grandview, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:117 POS:24 OF Arm Velocity: 83  6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall, wiry frame. Athletic outfielder. Slightly crouches in stance. Hands on shoulder. Short load, level swing through ball with bottom hand finish. Leg kick stride. Pull tendencies. 83 mph exit velo off the tee. Showed strong arm in OF at 83 mph from over the top arm slot. Has good range, gets behind ball. Ran a 6.8 60 time.

 

 

Austin Brady C / OF / Rampart , CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:139 POS:25 OF Arm Velocity: 82  5-foot-11, 180 pounds. Bats and throws right. Player has some good power potential. In the live round ball really jumped off bat. Has more power if lower half got involved a little more. Starts tall in stance and has slight leg kick. Has slightly uphill swing, bottom hand finish. Goes gap to gap. 94 mph exit velo off the tee. Behind the plate framed well, and had good blocking skills. Comes from over the top arm slot and has a quick glove to hand exchange. Pop-times off coach was 1.90-1.93. Threw 73 mph. In the outfield has same arm slot and was 82 mph from right to 3rd. Ran a 4.2 home to first time.

 

 

Brock Bernall C / OF / Pomona , CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:51 POS:9 OF Arm Velocity: 81  6-foot, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Versatile athletic catcher. At the plate has a slight crouch, toe tap stride. Can get pull happy, but had a good live round. Bat path is slightly uphill. Good extension through the baseball. Had a 86 mph exit velo off the tee. Solid receiving skills and good technique with blocking. Comes from an over the top arm slot. Showcased a 1.90-1.98 pop time off coach. Arm velo behind the dish was 76 mph. In the OF showcases same arm slot and was 81 mph from right field. Ran a 4.1 home to first time.

 

 

Josh Danyliw RHP / OF / Valor Christian, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:36 POS:13 OF Arm Velocity: 80  6-foot-4, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall, wiry frame. Has deception in delivery. In balance shows hips and back side, arm slot is long back, uphill, then comes from high 3/4 arm slot with good extension towards plate. Good leg drive with fall off to 1B. Good down angle. Fastball lived 82-83 touching 84. Curve had tight spin with 11/5 shape and was 74-76 mph. Change has late fade at 75-77 mph. Projectable. With added weight you could see the upper 80's potential.

 

 

Ryan Nourse OF / RHP / Arapahoe, CO / 2018 Rankings  State Rank:144 POS:31 OF Arm Velocity: 80  6-foot-1, 170-pound right hand hitting OF who ran a 4.32 home to first.  At the plate he hits from a slightly open stance with a high leg kick to come square.  He uses a slow load to get his weight to his back side and drive hard with his lower half through the ball.  Swing is level through the zone with good extension out front.  Exit velocity was 89 MPH.  In the field he showed good athletic actions fielding through the ball.  Stays in-line with his target on his delivery and throws from an over the top arm slot.  Ball was accurate to the target at 80 MPH.
