The Colorado Top Prospect games are just one month away and we would like to begin to spotlight some of the participants at this years event.  Over the course of the next four weeks Prep Baseball Report Colorado will run Q&A's with many of the participants giving you a chance to get to know them better.  Continuing our look is Jimmy Holinger, 2017, 5-foot-8, 145-pound, SS/2B from Regis Jesuit High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a Baseball player to those who have never seen you:

Holinger:  A team leader that promotes encouragement, leads by example and dedicated to my team. Competitive shortstop with quick defensive moves, Aggressive lead off right-handed hitter.

PBR:  What would your dream college be to play at?

Holinger: The opportunity to play on a D1 team that offers my academic interests.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field

Holinger: On the field, I stay focused on the game, encourage my teammates and give every play 100% effort. Off the field, I enjoy working out, hanging out with my friends and enjoy a great sense of humor

PBR:  What does your off season preparation look like this year compared to your freshman year?

Holinger: Weightlifting and conditioning three times a week, hitting balls two days a week

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point?

Holinger: My youth coach said that baseball is a game of failure and how you respond to it will make you a better player. I reflect on every play and every at bat for opportunities to improve.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Holinger: Dedicated to a routine stretch and warm up before a game.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This season: Improving my overall speed, strength and conditioning

Two Years: Win two high school state championship and have committed to a university.

Four Years: Starting infielder at the university of choice.
