With our recent 2016 rankings update reaching 200 players, there were many players that moved up, and also were new to the list. Below is a look at some of the top risers and newcomers after the fall and winter baseball season.

Ryan Sullivan, 1B, Cherokee Trail HS, CO benefited the most with the latest 2016 rankings update jumping 37 spots to No. 20 overall. The 6-foot-5 200 pound Iowa Western CC recruit impressed at our recent Preseason All-State event touching 100 mph on his exit velo and put on a display during batting practice. At the plate, he hits from a slightly open stance and takes a short stride. He gets good use of his lower half and produces an uphill path with his long arms and generates good carry on the ball. He moves well for his size, covering a lot of ground and he has good footwork.

Jake Greenwalt, RHP, Windsor HS moved up 8 spots to No. 11 overall. The Colorado Mesa Recruit is 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. Bats and throws right. Lanky build and very projectable. Starts slightly closed in stance and throws from a 3/4 arm slot from an uphill delivery. Lands square to plate, throws off two-feet, and falls off towards first base.  Hides ball well, tough to pick up. Fastball reaches low 90's and recently touched 92 mph at a scrimmage.

Tanner Johson, RHP, Chatfield moved up another ten spots to No. 18 overall. Everytime we see the Garden City CC recruit is gets better. At this event the A 6-foot-1, 160-pound right hand hitting outfielder/RHP  ran a 6.91 60.  Balanced at the plate with a short stride on the pitch.  Hands load slightly back and drop on the pitch.  He shows good lower leg drive and showcased an 86 MPH exit velocity.  In the field he covers good ground and is solid through the ball.  He has a quick transfer and delivers an accurate 87 MPH ball.  He was identified as most athletic as this event. Recently Johnson pitched a compete game 3 hitter against ThunderRidge and his fastball was consistently 85 mph the entire game. We have had Johnson at 90 mph from the outfield before
