2019 Players to Watch:

Riley Cornelio, Pine Creek High School RHP/SS
6-Foot-2, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall balanced stance. Hands start a little lower then last time we saw him. Generates good bat speed by swinging down to the ball, and has slightly uphill path. Good extension through finish. Good rotation on lower half. Gap to gap power. 89 mph exit velo off the tee. Ran a 7.2 60 time. Arm is electric at both short and on the mound. At short glove to hand separation works good. Tall lanky short stop with good range to both glove hand and back hand sides. 88 mph across diamond with accuracy. On mound Cornelio has athletic frame, and arm works great. In two innings struck out 6. Delivery is very simple and explodes to the mound. Very good leg drive. Fastball sat 87-88 and will easily increase with age. Could project to be mid 90's going into college especially since he's only 160 pounds. One of the top prospects in the country in the 2019 class.

Parker Gregory, Pine Creek High School, RHP/OF
The 5-foot-11, 160 pound RHP has a nice loose arm from high 3/4 arm slot and repeatable delivery with a lot of projection. Fastball touched 85 mph at the Top Prospect Games with a solid 3-pitch mix. Curveball had nice late tilt at 69 mph, and change was same arm speed as fastball with fade at 72 mph. At the plate has a tall narrow stance, short stride, and quick hands through the hitting zone producing a 83 mph exit velo. From the OF threw 85 mph from right. Goes back on the ball well. Ran a 7.4 laser timed 60. Projects as a D-1 pitching prospect.

Mitchell Morales, Broomfield High School, LHP/OF
Morales has so much projectablity don't be surprised if by the time it's all over he is competing with Riley Cornelio with that top spot. 6-foot, 155 pounds, Morales has a lankly frame that you can see has multiple more inches to grow. Fastball was 83 mph but is on you quick. Batters couldn't do much against him. Arm is loose and easy. To see video from this weekend click here. At the plate stands tall, narrow stance, has backwards toe-tap stride, and has quick hands to the ball. Sprays the ball all over the field. Registered a 82 mph exit velocity. Could speed up actions in outfield, but has a strong arm at 82 mph. Ran a 7.30 60

2020 Players to Watch:

Lucas Quezada, Denver School of the Arts, RHP/1B
Quezada has the same leg drive and extension that has become the norm for the recent string of power arms coming out of Colorado.  He drives off his backside and gets down the mound where he almost appears to touch the catcher’s mitt from a 3/4 slot.  His fastball was recently up to 87, but sat more in the 82-84 range, and although he is still raw in some aspects (only a freshman), he shows big upside potential with a quick arm and short arm swing. The ball really seems to jump on hitters, and he is able to counter a firm fastball with a developing 64-66 curveball.  Interestingly enough, Quezada’s current high school does not have a baseball team, so college recruiters will have to wait until PBR Colorado’s Underclass Invitational or search him out on the summer circuit.

Blake Mosenteen, Holyoke High School, SS/OF
5-foot-11, 155 pounds. Bats and throws right. Starts in a crouch then loads hands and weight back. Very short stride. Slightly uphill swing. Up the middle line drive hitter. Can get a little too mechanical sometimes. Just needs to loosen up a bit. Produced a 74 mph exit velo off the tee. In the field attacks the ball and gets his feet underneath him when he throws. Comes from a high 3/4 arm slot. Threw 71 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.3 laser timed 60.

Andrew Naha, Denver East High School, C/OF
6-foot-1, 155 pounds. Bat and throws right. Has a balanced athletic stance. Line drive swing with very good extension through the hitting zone with gap to gap power. Exit velocity was 78 mph. In the outfield had one of the top arm velocities at 80 mph from right field. Showed good actions. Behind the dish is athletic. Could use some coaching on technique. Has slight pause in throws but still was able to get pop-time of 2.01 off coach. Arm velo behind dish was 72 mph. Ran a 7.6 laser timed 60. Prospect to follow.
