Let’s take a look at the pitching position for this year's USG.

Brandon Chasse, Chaparral High School (2017)
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound left hand pitcher who gets to balance then uses a slight pause on his delivery.  Arm slot is over the top and arm speed remains constant on all pitches.  He lands in-line with the plate and falls off slightly to third base on his follow through.  Fast ball was 70 MPH with good command of the outside portion of the zone.  He added a 61-63 MPH curve with 2/8 break that got in on the hitter’s hands.

Jerin Deinhardt, Broomfield High School (2017)
A 5-foot-8, 160-pound right hand pitcher who ran a 7.30 60.  On the mound he uses a long rocker step and hands above his head to get to balance. He sinks and drives quickly to the plate.  Arm is over the top and he hides the ball well behind his head.  He showcased 3 pitches including a 78 MPH fastball with good command of the zone.  He added a 64-65 MPH curve with sweeping break and a 66-67 MPH cutter that ran hard away from the hitter.

Zach Hardman, Northglenn High School (2017)
A 6-foot-0, 140-pound right hand pitcher who ran a 7.40 60.  On the mound he is simple with good balance.  He falls to the plate after coming balanced and delivers in-line through the pitch.  Arm slot is over the top and high 3.4.  Arm speed remains constant during all three pitches.  Fastball maxed out at 77 MPH with good command away in the zone.  He also featured a 63-64 MPH curve with sweeping 11/5 break and a 60-61 MPH change with late down action.

Zach Lamari, Strasburg High School (2017)
A 6-foot-3, 176-pound right hand pitcher with good mechanics and balance on his delivery.  He uses a quick motion with good drive to the plate.  Arm slot is high ¾ with consistent arm speed on all pitches.  He falls off slightly towards first base on his follow through.  Fastball was 77 MPH and he worked it in on right hand hitters.  He also showed a 67-68 MPH curve with late break and a 66-68 MPH change that lived down in the zone.

Carl Martillaro, Pomona High School (2017)
A 6-foot-0, 185-pound right hand pitcher uses max effort in his delivery.  Hands stay at eye level on the wind up, he gets to balance and then drives hard to the plate.  Arm slot is high ¾ and his momentum take him to first base after the pitch.  Fastball was 74-76 MPH with good command away in the zone.  He added a 64-65 MPH curve with 11/5 break and a 66-68 MPH change that moves away from the right hand hitter.

Padric Walsh, Smoky Hill High School (2017)
A 6-foot-6, 170-pound projectable right hand pitcher.  Each time we see Walsh, he improves with mechanics and velocity.  He does a nice job of getting his 6-6 frame to balance and then closing the distance to home plate.  He lands in-line with the plate and delivers from an over the top arm slot.  He was effective in his three innings of work including one 8 pitch inning.  Walsh showcased an 83 MPH fastball with good command in and out.  He added a 66-68 MPH curve with 11/5 break and his out pitch was a 70-72 MPH change with late movement down in the zone.
