The Prep Baseball Report’s 2nd Annual Unsigned Senior Games was held August 13th and 14th at Metro State University. Prospects completed a pro-style workout and games for the PBR Colorado's Scouting Staff, several of whom were new to the staff.

Let’s take a look at the position players for this year's USG.

Sean Brogan, Lutheran High School (2017)
A 5-foot-11, 160-pound right hand hitting OF/2B who ran a 7.26 60.  At the plate he is balanced with a short stride for timing.  Weight rotates through the zone with good extension at contact.  Exit velocity was 83 MPH off the tee.  In the field he showed an accurate 80 MPH arm.  He moves well on balls both left and right and attacks balls in front of him.  

Jesse Carr, Natrona County High School (2017)
A 6-foot-0, 170-pound left hand hitting OF/LHP who ran a 7.2 60.  At the plate he is square and balanced.  Hands load back on a short stride for timing.  Exit velocity was 82 MPH off the tee.  During the live round he showcased good bat control and good power to the right center gap.  In the field he showed well both in the outfield and infield.  He has good lateral movement and delivers a 74 MPH ball from a high ¾ arm slot.  On the mound he gets to good balance and drives hard to the plate.  Motion stays in-line with the plate and he delivers from a high ¾ arm slot.  Fastball was 73-75MPH and he added a 63-65 MPH curve. 

Jacob Cordova, Pueblo Central High School (2017)
A 5-foot-9, 132 pound right hand hitting 2B/SS who ran a 7.30 60.  At the plate he stands balanced with a slow load to his back side.  Weight and hands fire through the zone.  Swing path is slightly uphill.  Exit velocity was 79 MPH but ball had good carry to the gaps.  He is smooth in the field with quick feet and hands to get rid of the ball.  Throws from a low ¾ arm slot and delivers an accurate 74 MPH ball.  During the USG he made several difficult plays look routine with good anticipation.

Sam Cregan, Air Academy High School (2017)
A 6-foot-0, 170-pound right hand hitting SS/RHP who ran a 7.46 60.  At the plate he stands slightly open and uses a high leg kick for timing to become square.  Hips drive through the zone and swing path is uphill.  During the live round he showed good power to the left side.  Exit velocity was 86 MPH.  In the field he moved well on balls up the middle.  He uses quick hands to get rid of the ball and delivers an accurate 80 MPH ball across the diamond.  On the mound, he uses a short compact motion.  After reaching balance he falls to the plate and stays in-line through delivery.  He throws from a high ¾ slot and used an 82 MPH fastball to work three effective innings in the USG.  He also showcased a 69-72 MPH curve and a 70-72 MPH change.

LJ Kochevar, Palmer Ridge High School (2017)
A 5-foot-10, 185-pound right hand hitting 3B/2B who ran a 7.60 60.  At the plate he stands balanced with hands high in the zone.  He uses a long stride to bring his weight forward as hands sweep through the zone.  Swing path is uphill and exit velocity was 81 MPH.  In the field he looks very comfortable at 3rd base.  He moves well both left and right and has good feet to get in throwing position.  Arm velocity was 74 MPH with accuracy. 

Tanner Mayberry, Coronado High School (2017)
A 5-foot-10, 180-pound right hand hitting SS/3B who ran a 7.70 60.  At the plate he hits from a wide stance with a short lift and place stride for timing.  Fast hip rotation allows for power to the left side.  He uses a level swing path to keep the bat in the zone and had an 89 MPH exit velocity.  In the field he played both 3rd and Short, looking comfortable at each.  He makes the routine play and has good anticipation and reactions.  Arm was 78 MPH across the diamond. 

Morgan McIntosh, Highlands Ranch High School (2017)
A 5-foot-9, 190-pound left hand hitting 3B/2B who ran a 7.30 60.  At the plate he is balanced and square.  Slow load to the back side with his weight before driving through the zone.  Good extension out front creates a 90 MPH exit velocity.  During the live round he showed great bat control to all fields.  In the field he played 3rd base and played it well.  He has a good first step on balls to the backhand side.  He uses quick hands to get rid of the ball and delivers an accurate 77 MPH throw.

Max Mead, Lakewood high School (2017)
A 6-foot-3, 185-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.40 60.  At the plate he stands tall and open.  He uses a short stride to come square and get his weight moving forward.  Bat travels a slight uphill path with good power to the left center gap.  Exit velocity was 83 MPH.  In the field he looked good in both right field and 3rd base.  He shows solid fundamentals and throws from a high ¾ arm slot.  Arm velocity was 76 MPH.  On the mound he stand tall and then sinks and drives to the plate after balance.  He lands in-line with the plate and delivers over the top.  Fastball was 79 MPH with good command in and out.  He also showcases a 66-69 MPH curve with 11/5 break. 

Tyler Mills, IMG Academy (2017)
A 5-foot-10, 145-pound right hand hitting 2B/3B who ran a 7.30 60.  At the plate he is balanced and uses a leg kick and long stride to get his weight coming forward.  Hands and hips fire through the zone with good extension out front.  During the live round he showed good bat control to all fields.  Exit velocity was 83 MPH.  In the field he showcased well, he showed fluid motions and rhythm when fielding ground balls.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and delivers an accurate 78 MPH ball across the diamond. 

Luke Vargas, Prairie View High School (2017)
A 5-foot-9, 180-pound right hand hitting 3B/2B who ran a 7.60 60.  At the plate he is balanced and slightly open.  He uses a long quick stride to come closed and bring his weight forward.  He drives hard through the zone with his lower half.  He showed good extension at contact and drove several balls into the left center gap.  Exit velocity was 84 MPH.  In the field he played well at 3rd base.  He showed good instincts on positioning and moved well during the evaluation round.  He showcased a 74 MPH arm with accuracy.  

Sean Whalen, Manitou Springs High School (2017)
A 5-foot-11, 160-pound left hand hitting 1B/OF who ran a 7.90 60.  At the plate he starts open with a double toe tap on the pitch.  Strong lower leg drive on the swing and level bat path through the zone.  Does a nice job of hitting the ball the opposite way.  Exit velocity was 76 MPH off the tee.  In the field he shows good feet and presence around the first base bag.  He uses a short arm and 3/4 arm slot to get rid of the ball quickly.  Arm velocity was 70 MPH.

Judah Wilbur, Denver North High School (2017)
A 5-foot-11, 155-pound right hand hitting SS/2B who ran a 7.20 60.  At the plate he stands balanced with a high leg kick on the pitch.  He shows strong weight transfer and drives through the baseball.  He is aggressive at the plate and jumps on the first pitch in the zone.  In the field he made several plays up the middle, he showcased a 77 MPH from a high ¾ arm slot with accuracy.
