Updated PBR Colorado 2018 Rankings

John Cackowski and PBR Staff

In the winter of 2015 PBR Colorado released our first ever 2018 rankings which consisted of 40 players. In the past four years Prep Baseball Report Colorado has had the opportunity to cover amateur baseball like no other organization has ever been able to do before in the state of Colorado. Between scouting numerous games last spring and summer, and having a great opportunity to see more 2018 grads at the Preseason All-State and Senior Games, we were able to move our 2018 ranking list to 175 players.

Tanner O'Tremba OF / Cherry Creek, CO / 2018

Committed to Texas Tech. 6-foot, 215 pounds. Bats and throws right. The No. 1 overall 2018 O'Tremba has taken Cherry Creek and put them on his shoulders has been a one man wrecking crew at the plate for 4 years. Going into his senior year, not many players in state history have accomplished what the Texas Tech commit has since he started as a freshman. In his career O'Tremba has hit 21 homeruns, and driven in 86 RBI's. When this season is done, O'Tremba will most likely be in play as being No. 1 in Cherry Creek history in both of those categories.

Justin Olson 1B / LHP / Pine Creek, CO / 2018

Committed to Kentucky. 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Bats and throws left. At the plate has a balanced stance and loads straight back, with a leg-kick stride. Swing is slightly uphill through the zone which produces a ton of power to both gaps. Has very good plate coverage. Lower half and upper half all work in sync. Gets very good extension through hitting zone. Produced a 93 mph exit velo off the tee. At 1B has soft hands and good feet for his size. throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has good awareness around the bag. Threw 81 mph across the diamond. On the mound pumps hands over head to start. Square to the plate. Flies open a little to 3rd base side. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot off two feet. Looks like he gets more leg drive from the stretch then from wind-up. Fastball was 82-83. Curveball was extremely sharp and a strikeout pitch with good 1/7 break at 68-69 mph. Ran a 7.35 laser timed 60.

Committed to Arizona State University. 6-foot-2, 195 pounds. Big riser in the state of Colorado. Starts with modified stretch windup, easy delivery from high 3/4 arm slot. Loose arm, effortless motion, slight coil in balance point lands in-line, then square to the plate with good extension. Fastball lived 88-90 mph. Change up thrown at same arm-speed as fastball at 80-81 mph with late fade. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin. Thrown at 74-76 mph.

Riley Egloff RHP / C / Heritage, CO / 2018

Committed to Yavapai JC. 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. Has modified stretch windup. High hips, still growing. Looks like he's going to hit a growth spurt. Arm slot is short on back side then comes from deceptive 3/4 angle. Quick arm. Lower half works well, lands slightly closed.. Fastball sits 89-91 mph touching 92. Off speed pitches are same arm speed as fastball. Curveball has late break with 11/5 shape. Change has good sink, and comes at a tough 78-80 mph velocity. First start of 2018 pitched 5 no-hit innings.

Kayden Seriani RHP / Paonia, CO / 2018

Committed to Grand Canyon. 6-3, 190 pounds. The big power RHP out of small school Paonia dominated 2A competition last spring helping lead the Eagles to undefeated 25-0 season and 2A state championship.usually sits around 88 with his fastball, running it into the low 90s at times, and recently touched 91 at the Area Code Games. Curveball is sharp at 75-78 mph. The Grand Canyon commit could be the top pitcher in our state after the 2018 spring season.
