In the winter of 2015 PBR Colorado released our first ever 2019 rankings which consisted of 40 players. In the past two years Prep Baseball Report Colorado has had the opportunity to cover amateur baseball like no other organization has ever been able to do before in the state of Colorado. Between scouting numerous games last spring and summer, and having a great opportunity to see more 2019 grads at the Preseason All-State in March, and the Top Prospect Games this summer. We were able to move our 2019 ranking list to 125 players. Our next big 2019 rankings update will be posted after the spring season.

Riley Cornelio RHP / SS / Pine Creek , CO / 2019

The Texas Christian commit still holds on to the top spot, and starting off the spring strong. 6-foot-2, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Athletic, wiry, and elastic. On the mound recently uses a modified stretch delivery. Land in-line towards plate with loose arm action. Good extension towards the hitter. Arm-slot is high 3/4 and on time. Fastball sits 90-91, touching 93. Curveball is tight with late depth at 75-76 mph. Change is similar arm-speed as fastball at 82-83 mph. Advanced high school hitter at the plate. Has narrow open stance and aggressive stride towards ball that produces a 90 mph exit velocity off a tee.

Justin Boyd SS / OF / Legend , CO / 2019

Staying at No. 2 is Boyd. Committed to Oregon State. 6-foot, 170 pounds. Bats and throws right. Looks the part, and backs it up.  Has a cool, confident aura without being cocky. At the plate he is balanced with a simple, fluent load of the hands and little/no stride. Bat speed is quick, and he laced line drives in his BP round. 92 mph exit velocity. Has the arm strength to stick at short, and the glove is advanced. Bounces around with athletic quickness and makes plays to both sides with throws from all angles. Threw 77 mph. Ran a 4.28 home to first, and a 7.00 60 on a slower track.

Sam Ireland 1B / RHP / Mountain Vista , CO / 2019

Moving up from 5 to 3 is Minnesota commit Sam Ireland. Minnesota recruit, currently ranked No. 5 in Colorado's 2019 class, No. 373 overall, 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong, athletic build, long limbs. Clean, easy loose arm action, 3/4 slot, long, loose, smooth delivery. Stride direction in line, repeats well for his size. Fastball sat 87-88. Topped at 92 once, with multiple 90's thrown for strikes 2nd start of the season. Change up sits 73-75 mph maintaining fastball arm speed. Throws a slurve that has good late break at 10/7 shape. Last outing threw a no-hitter against Grand Junction Central, and last game hit 2 homeruns against Chatfield.

Clayton Burke RHP / 1B / Mountain Vista, CO / 2019

Committed to Oregon. 6-foot-3, 215-pound right hand hitting RHP/1B.  At the plate he has a balanced simple set up.  He uses a slow load to his back side and a short stride to get his weight coming forward.  Hips and hands fire through the zone and produce great pull side power.  Exit velocity was 92 MPH and he hit several balls hard off the wall in the left center gap during the live round.  On the mound he is an imposing presence.  His motion is mechanically sound with no wasted movements.  He gets balanced and then drives hard to the plate.  Burke worked two very quick innings at the TPG collecting 4 K’s along the way.  Lower half lands inline with the plate and he stays square through delivery.  Arm is quick and over the top.  Fastball lives 88-91.  Strike thrower. He adds a 71 MPH curve with tight rotation and sharp 11/5 brea

Parker Gregory RHP / OF / Pine Creek , CO / 2019

Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS:

Committed to Wichita State. 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Bats left throws right. Arm works free and easy and has quick hand speed. Pounded fastballs down in the zone and they jump at the plate. Steps across his body which leads to some natural cut at times. More velocity to come. Changeup works well. 11/5 slurve is a tight, out pitch with multi-plane break. Sharp at times and has a chance to be a swing and miss pitch. Was up to 88 mph at Preseason All-State event, and you could expect him 90-91 by May. Threw entirely out of the stretch.
