Week 2 Player & Pitcher of the Week

Caleb Dameron
PBR Colorado Staff

Each week during the high school season, the PBR Colorado staff will announce our 'Players of the Week' awards for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state will continue to perform and put up numbers weekly, though only one position player and one pitcher can take home this award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honor this spring season. We will also highlight those that fell short in our weekly 'Diamond Notes' article, where you can learn more about the standout names across the CHSAA.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around our state. If you are a coach and interested in nominating a player, please contact Josh Reynolds ([email protected]).

Sean Togher 3B / 1B / Fort Collins, CO / 2024

Over his two games against Dakota Ridge and Arvada West this last week, Togher proceeded to go 5 for 8 with a double, homer, 4 RBI, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 2 HBP. Togher also helped his team on the mound with a save against Dakota Ridge while also throwing to end the game against Arvada West. All in all Togher went 6 innings with 10 Ks and 0 earned runs while being a big threat with the bat all week long. Togher is your week two PBR player of the week.

Laif Palmer RHP / OF / Golden, CO / 2023

Laif Palmer wasn't going to let his team down on the mound in Golden's extra-inning walk-off win against Palisade this last Saturday as he went 8 innings with 13 Ks all while staying under the CHSAA pitch count for a single outing. Palmer also ramped up his fastball to 94 mph at times with an 83 mph slider and a working changeup. Golden HS has quite the arm on their hands for 2023 with the Oregon State commit already making pitcher of the week status and showing off a big-time fastball in early Spring.
