COLE TELTSCHIK (MISSOURI STATE COMMIT)

Cole Teltschik C / SS / Discovery Canyon, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 1
Teltschik attended the 2024 Future Games and is another catcher you don't want to miss out on. The soon to be junior has big time strength while still presenting plenty of all around feel on the baseball diamond. We have seen Teltschik catch plenty of unfamiliar (and high-end) arms lately and he has handled them exceptionally well. The toolset on Teltschik comes with an 83 mph catcher throwing velocity, a 95 mph top exit-velocity, and a 73 mph bat speed. Teltschik has a simple approach in the box that has still yielded power and solid results as evidence by his .393 average, 5 HR, and a 1.289 OPS last spring across 88 plate appearances.

OUR Q&A:
Prep Baseball: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? What were you looking for out of a college program to continue your baseball career at?
Teltschik: I wasn’t sure what to expect when first starting the recruiting process. I knew that I was looking for a program with good culture, and a coaching staff and players that align with my personal values.
Prep Baseball: Did location play a factor in your decision?
Teltschik: Location played more of a role than distance. I wanted a location and a community that would fit me as a person.
Prep Baseball: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you? Where did the school you committed to first see you play?
Teltschik: The late summer before my junior year is when the process started to heat up for me. The coaching staff at my committed school first saw me at the Prep Baseball Future Games.
Prep Baseball: What do you like most about the program you chose, and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Teltschik: The coaching staff’s philosophies of player development and their approach toward the game was a huge attraction to me. This along with the campus and the array of academic options were all key factors in my decision.
Prep Baseball: What other schools were on your short list before you made your final decision?
Teltschik: The schools that were on my list were VMI, Arkansas State, and GCU.
Prep Baseball: Who is the best player you have faced in your state? What about them makes for a tough opponent?
Teltschik: The best player that I have faced was Trey Gregory-Alford. What made him a tough opponent was the way he competed the entire game. He is an intelligent player who uses his tools very effectively, and always found a way to speed the game up for his opponent.
Prep Baseball: At what point in your career did you realize you were a college-caliber player and became serious about taking your game to the next level?
Teltschik: I can’t remember a time that I didn’t want to play at the next level. I first knew that this goal was a possibility when I realized that I found joy in the hard work that I was putting in.
Prep Baseball: What advice would you give to young baseball players striving to get where you are?
Teltschik: Some advice that I would give to young ball players to learn to love the game, and then learn to love the work that it takes to get better.
Prep Baseball: What is the most memorable moment in your baseball career to this point?
Teltschik: The most memorable moment in my baseball career to this point is my walk off home run in the high school playoffs last year. This was not only a cool moment for me, but it was an amazing moment for the team who had worked so hard to get to that point. Along with this, it was actually the first ever playoff win in program history.
Prep Baseball: Preview your high school team's season for us. How do you feel your team will be?
Teltschik: I feel that we should be really good this year. We have a lot of amazing talent and experience on the field. I’m optimistic that all of our tools will come together for a really good season.
