NYS Games: Team 7 Preview

Anthony Dell'Aquilla
C/3B / Honesdale HS (PA) / 2019
Can do a little bit of everything, projects best behind the plate or at 3B but could be a quality arm on the mound as well. Hard nosed player. 

First Base

Max Luke 3B / RHP / Croton Harmon, NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 13 / POS: 1 Offensive talent from the left side of the plate with some juice to his pull side gap. Adequate defender at 3B but more comfortable at 1B. Will work in the 83-85 MPH range on the mound. Dual prospect.

 

Middle Infielders

Lucas Feliciano SS / 2B / Walter Panas , NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 288 / POS: 57 Slick defender up the middle; rangy 6-foot-2 166 pound frame. Made some swing path adjustments and is much shorter to contact.

Zaes Zabala SS / RHP / Iona Prep, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 244 / POS: 45 Lanky 6-foot-3 168 pound middle infielder/RHP with some tools. Steady defender with a balanced middle of the field approach. Had a solid spring for Iona Prep. Strong arm across the diamond.

Patrick Jarvis RHP / SS / Manhasset, NY / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 6 / POS: 1 Promising 2021 grad with a long legged 6-foot-0 155 pound frame. Aggressive swings while staying compact to the ball; glove works well, looking for him to show a quicker release as he develops. Ton of potential on the mound, worked 82-84 MPH in February with an up tempo delivery.

Diego Urreta 2B / 3B / Walter Panas , NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 71 / POS: 1 Steady defender and a legit bat to go with it. May also see some time at 3B. Excited to see him in game play.

 

THIRD BASE

Sean Scanlon SS / RHP / Fordham Prep, NY / 2020 Prototypical pitcher's frame at 6-foot-0 185 pounds; fast arm working in the 82-83 MPH range recently. Expect more to come from this righty.

 

 

Peter O'Toole SS / RHP / CBA-Albany, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 25 / POS: 6 Late addition to Team 7, O'toole impressed last Aug. at the Future Games and hasn't missed a beat. Fluid swing from the left side with some projectable juice. Glove is above average, will see time at the 3B position but has the athleticism to play SS as well. Overall impressive player.

 

Outfielders

Grady Stevenson OF / Croton Harmon, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 176 / POS: 25 Solid physical frame; lefty stick can drive the ball. Looking forward to having him back with us.

Myles Proctor OF / Kennedy Catholic, NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 34 / POS: 5 High end athlete at 6-foot-1 173 pounds. Runs a 6.72 60 with some fast twitch at the plate. 82 MPH arm from the OF.

Jake Miller
LHP/OF / Don Bosco Prep (NJ) / 2019
Clean delivery from the mound, works in the 82-83 MPH range and can clip a notch higher. Good command, repeats actions. Has shown offensive ability lately, corner OF type. 

Evan Dempsey
OF / RHP / Abington Heights (PA) / 2020
Talented dual player. Recently ran a 6.89 60 (personal best 6.78) with a 79 MPH from the OF; showed some life in the bat to his pull side as well projects well on the mound as well working 78-80 MPH with a tight breaking ball. 

Joseph Barcia
OF / Abington Heights (PA) / 2019
Strong player at 5-foot-8 150 pounds; 82 MPH arm from the outfield; aggressive through the zone hacks at the plate. 

Pitcher Only

Bryce Reimer LHP / 1B / Sullivan West , NY / 2020 Full frame 6-foot-2 225 southpaw with a repeatable delivery; works 79-81 (82) MPH with a sharp 2-to-8 CB.

Dylan Beers RHP / 1B / Monroe-Woodbury, NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 52 / POS: 17 Promising RHP that was 78-80 MPH last September; above average command with a delivery that repeats and projectable 6-foot-0 160 pound frame.

Nicholas Fraterrigo RHP / OF / Ardsley , NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 27 / POS: 6 6-foot-3 205 RHP that works in the 81-84 MPH range but at times has been 86-88 MPH. Over the top delivery with a strong frame.

David Galvao RHP / 1B / Kennedy Catholic , NY / 2019 Rankings  StateRank: 41 / POS: 10 Prime athlete at 6-foot-4 210 pounds; the righty features a long back swing and high 3/4 arm slot. Works down hill with some 12-6 spike action to his CB.

Von Baker RHP / Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 51 / POS: 16 6-foot-7 215 pound RHP with loads of potential; repeats delivery well for his size and uses that to his advantage, working down hill with his FB in the 81-82 MPH range but recently touched an 85.

Sean Foody RHP / 3B / Tappan Zee, NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 63 / POS: 20 Sturdy 6-foot-2 200 pound frame with a 3/4 arm slot. Works down in the zone with a heavy ball at 79-80 MPH range. Change up features some arm side fade. More in the tank for the 2020 grad.

Nicholas Fanelli RHP / 3B / New Paltz, NY / 2020 Rankings  StateRank: 56 / POS: 19 Athletic 5-foot-11 157 pound RHP who can work in the upper 70's, touching 80 MPH. Features an arsenal of offerings (CB, CH, KN). Looking for a breakthrough effort from Fanelli.

Caleb Martin
RHP / Honesdale (PA) / 2020
Solid athlete at 6-foot-0 185 pounds; the RHP was recently up to 88 MPH and works in the 84-86 MPH range. Abbreviated delivery with quick separation of the glove; arm speed happens in a hurry. Talented prospect that also projects positionally.
