PRESEASON ID NAMES TO KNOW

Caden Nelson RHP / 3B / SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2027

One of the standout performances at the event came from Nelson's right arm. The 2027 prospect, listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, ran his fastball up to 91.8 mph, never dipping below 89 mph. He showed above-average feel for both his slider and changeup. One of the top arms out of the Dakotas, Nelson will be a strong follow heading into the spring and summer. He is currently ranked No. 8 in the Dakotas' 2027 class.

Kyler Kudrna RHP / OF / Dickinson High School, ND / 2026

Kudrna may have been the most athletic player at the event. Ranked No. 7 in the Dakotas' 2026 class, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound two-way prospect put up impressive numbers across the board. He ran a 6.98 60-yard dash, recorded a 98.3 mph exit velocity, and threw 90 mph from the outfield. He capped off his day on the mound with a fastball ranging from 86.6-88.4 mph. With a lean frame, loose arm action, and smooth movement down the mound, Kudrna stood out in Fargo.

Drew Ellingson RHP / 3B / PERHAM SENIOR HIGH, MN / 2026

Crossing the border from Perham, MN, Ellingson made an impact in just his second Prep Baseball event. He saw a significant jump in fastball velocity, topping at 91.3 mph while sitting 89.0-90.5 mph during his bullpen session. With his stock rising, Ellingson will be a strong 2026 follow this spring and summer.

Cameron Stahl OF / RHP / HORACE HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2028

One of the more intriguing young arms at the event, Stahl, a 2028 right-hander from Horace High School, showcased his developing potential. He ran his fastball up to 87.8 mph, sitting in the 83.3-86.6 mph range. With plenty of room for growth, Stahl is an arm to keep an eye on in the Dakotas.

Wyatt Kosidowski OF / SS / FARGO DAVIES HIGH SCHOOL, ND / 2026

A much stronger and more refined player since his last event, Kosidowski showed significant improvement. The 2026 grad from Fargo Davies displayed increased physicality at the plate, boosting his exit velocity to 93.8 mph. Defensively, he showed versatility, working out in both the outfield (92 mph) and infield (87 mph). He also took the mound, where his fastball sat between 84-86 mph.
