Scouting Report

05/20/18- Uncommitted, he has continued to become more lean a 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. Offensively, the left handed hitter has some length, but natural loft and strength, with an exit velocity of 87 mph. He has continued to trend in the upward direction velocity wise. Working 87-88 touching 90 mph, he works very deliberately. The stuff could continue to play up with improved rhythm and pace in delivery as mechanically he has cleaned up the arm action and works in line down the mound. The curveball has some shape at 78-79 mph, but the fastball is heavy and as he continues to log innings should continue to improve.

01/21/17- The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder has a big, strong frame that still can lean out showed impressive fastball command and dominated the lower half of the zone especially to the glove side. Fastball command was extremely impressive for his age. 84-87 and touched 88 a couple times with more to come.  Free and easy with a long arm swing.  Repeated arm slot and delivery very well.  Premium arm in college. Only threw one slider at 74 mph, but did not throw this fall and will make a big jump this spring.

2/2/16 - 6-foot-3, 210 pound righthander with a tall thick strong young body. Loose live arm at a high ¾ arm slot. Fluid delivery. Deep in back, lands in line, semi upright finish. Fastball is downhill at 83-87 mph with late life in the zone. Good feel for changeup. Good arm speed with same fastball life at 77-78 mph. Stuff is tighter with more life when he gets release point out front. Did not throw a breaking ball. Threw 2 innings giving up 0 hits, 3 K’s, 1 BB. 85-87 mph 1st inning, 83-86 mph 2nd inning. Very projectable young arm with a big body.

11/10/15- 6-foot-3, 190-pounder who had a physical presence on the mound. Came right from football practice and in to pitch for an inning where his fastball sat 82-84 mph with some run and bumped an 85. Hit his spots and got out of the inning quickly. Young arm to keep an eye on.

9/14/15- 6-foot-3, 210 pounds with a tall, lean, athletic, and projectable frame with strength. Loose and easy arm action and delivery. 3/4 arm slot. His arm goes toward first after he breaks his hands and he lands in line. He can throw across his body and he doesn't use as much lower half as he could. 81-84 mph with plenty more to come.
