2018 Florida Summer recruiting Trail

The 2018 class in Florida is another talented group that features six of our top ten ranked players already committed to SEC and ACC schools. There are, however, still a number of gifted 2018 players that are still uncommitted. Even though a few of these kids will likely commit this summer, most of them still will not commit until next summer or even until 2017. Here a few players that will likely receive a few offers from major schools within the next couple of months:

. LHP Jonathan Gates, Nature Coast Tech HS

Gates is a lean, athletic, and projectable lefty with a loose arm that produces an 82-85 mph and above average off speed. Look for Gates to run his velocity up even higher this summer as he continues to mature. Jonathan will only get stronger and better with age. There is a real possibility that he will be one of these Florida 2018 players to commit this summer.

. OF Kendrick Calilao, The First Academy

Calilao is an athletic outfielder with a plus arm from the outfield. At the plate he has a short, quick, and fluid swing that produces hard line drives with gap power. His power will increase with strength and maturity. He may not commit this summer but will definitely attract recruiters to his games and may even receive some offers before the summer is over.

. LHP/1B/OF Julian Bosnic, Berkeley Prep

Bosnic is a big, strong, athletic, and loose player at 6-foot-2 195 pounds and will likely get bigger. He has loose, easy actions on the mound, in the field, and at the plate. His fastball sits around 84 mph but I have seen it up 86. He also has a nice lefty stroke with a nice upper cut and good bat speed. He could be a legit two way recruit but his arm will definitely be the driving factor in bringing recruiters to his game. He, like Gates, has a legit chance of committing this summer because of him being one of the top 2018 lefty arms in Florida.
