2018 Florida Unsigned Senior Games Position Breakdown: Middle Infielders

Lakeland, FL- On September 8th, the 2018 Florida Unsigned Senior Games took place at Henley Field which featured some of the top uncommitted 2019s in the state. Players participated in a pro-style workout followed by a game.

Over the next week, we will breakdown each player by position through report. Today, we take a look at all the middle infielders and a two-way in attendance:

Kaden Luttermoser SS / 2B / George Jenkins , FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds with an athletic frame and some room to still fill out. The uncommitted middle infielder displayed athletic actions that showed he can stick in the middle. Trusts his hands, and shows range moving to his right and left. Accurate throws to the bag. Offensively, he starts from a slightly open stance with a simple swing that shows good timing and rhythm. Made consistent contact during BP, driving the ball back up the middle. Had a hard hit fly ball to center during gameplay. 

 

 

Matthew Moss SS / 3B / Buchholz, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds with a lean, athletic build. Offensively, he starts from an open stance and looks to drive the ball to his pull side, utilizing some of his lower half. At times he can be out in front on the ball, but when he stays back and direct to the ball, he can drive it to the left-center field gap. Defensively, he makes the plays in the field and stays out in front of the ball. Some range moving laterally to the backhand side. Throws to the bag are accurate and topped out at 79 mph.

 

 

Raekwon Williams SS / 2B / Brandon, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds with a long, lean, projectable frame. Offensively, he creates leverage with his long limbs and when he is on time showed the ability to drive the ball to the left-center field gap with some authority. Registered an 86 mph exit velocity in the cage. This translated to the game when had a hard line drive single through the SS/3B hole. Defensively, he shows confident hands in the field and funnels the ball in with throws to the bag that topped out at 73 mph. 

 

 

Christian Bradshaw SS / 2B / Steinbrenner, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds on an athletic frame with room to fill out. Stood out throughout the day not only in the workout portion, but in gameplay as well. Defensively, he showed twitchy actions with a quick transfer and range up the middle. Throws to the bag were on line and accurate, topping out at 85 mph. Offensively, he showed quick hands with some feel for the barrel which translated to a single in the game. He then followed up the single by stealing second base with a good jump on the pitcher. Athletic infielder that has some tools to play at the next level and should improve with added strength.

 

 

Joseph Settle 2B / OF / Lake Region, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-9, 175 pounds with a compact frame. Offensively, he shows a simple approach and looks to drive the ball back up the middle. He can get a little long at times, but when he stays direct to the ball he was able to make solid contact. Registered an 84 mph exit velocity in the cage. Drove a ball over the shortstop for a line drive single during gameplay. In the field, he shows some bounce in his step and fields the ball out in front and with confidence. Throws to the bag were accurate and topped out at 77 mph. 

 

 

Justin Salas SS / 2B / George Jenkins, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-7, 170 pounds with a compact, athletic frame and strong lower half. Offensively, he starts from a balanced approach with a quick bat from the right side and a feel for the barrel. During BP he made consistent, solid contact and drove the ball gap-to-gap. Generated an exit velocity of 82 mph in the cage. Defensively, he shows some quick twitch, moving freely to his left and right while fielding the ball under control. Throws to the bag were accurate and topped out at 80 mph. 

 

 

Ryan Rodriguez 2B / SS / Sunlake, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-6, 150 pounds with a compact frame and quick twitch. Defensively, he showed athletic actions and confident hands, fielding the ball out in front and under control while also ranging backhand and forehand. Accurate throws to the bag that topped out at 83 mph. Offensively had a simple, level swing and made consistent contact, spraying line drives during BP. Registered an 87 mph exit velocity in the cage. Solid all around player. 

 

 

Derek Ramos SS / 2B / Central Pointe Christian Academy , FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-7, 145 pounds on a lean, compact frame. Defensively, he shows confident hands and fields the ball out in front. Displayed the ability to bounce to his left and right while ranging backhand and forehand. Accurate throws across the diamond that topped out at 83 mph. Offensively, he looks to generate power with a big leg kick and rhythm. At times he can be a little long, but when he stays direct to the ball and has his timing, he can drive the ball up the middle. Registered an 84 mph exit velocity in the cage.

 

 

Coltin Lindsey SS / RHP / Tavares, FL / 2019

Currently stands at 5-foot-11, 150 pounds with a lean athletic frame. Still room to fill out. Offensively, he had a solid around of BP with a level, line drive approach which translated to a double in the game. Makes solid contact on the ball and shows quick hands through the zone. Some feel for the barrel. Int he field he showed sure hands and fields the ball with confidence. Throws across the diamond topped out at 80 mph. On the mound he also worked down in the zone striking out one during gameplay by featuring a fastball that sat 77-80 mph along with a 64-66 mph curveball that he threw for strikes.
