2018 Next Level Baseball National Showcase Standouts

Tallahassee, FL- On August 25th, one of the top organizations in the state, Next Level Baseball, held their 2018 National Showcase for the 2019-2022 classes. Players participated in a pro-style workout followed by simulated game action which included throwing to live batters for pitchers.

Below are some of the standouts from the event:

Dilan Lawson, RHP, Madison HS, FL (2019)
Uncommitted, Showed above average stuff on the mound with an athletic frame. Fastball worked 87-91 mph with life. He commanded the lower half of of the zone with good extension at release. Also spun a tight curveball at 74-76 mph with 11/5 shape. Very interesting arm that will be a steal for someone. 

Bryce Dillmore, RHP/SS, Liberty County, FL (2019)
Uncommitted, intriguing two way guy with the upside to impact a team with his arm and bat. On the mound he threw from a natural, loose 3/4 arm slot that produce good sink at 86-88 mph. His breaking ball has slurvy shaped and showed average bite when released out in front. His changeup was thrown down in the zone well and showed fading action at 75-76 mph. At the plate, Dillmore showcase above average hand speed through the zone. The ball jumps off the barrel and he hit several homeruns in BP over the left-center field wall. 

Ethan Adkinson, LHP, NLB Academy (2021)
Uncommitted, Projectable frame with long limbs. Easily had the most fluid and repeatable delivery at this showcase. Throws from a 3/4 arm action with a long arm swing in the back. Presently the young lefty works at 80-81 mph with his fastball that he commands well to both sides of the plate with good angle into righties. His breaking ball was a 71-72 mph sweeping slider that projects to be an above average pitch for him. Also showed a solid changeup at 72-73 with a little depth. More to come as he matures. Strong follow.

Caleb Houston 1B/C Bacon County HS, GA (2020)
Uncommitted, Physical, strong, athletic build. Displayed big power potential during BP. Hit numerous no doubter homeruns during BP, showing gap-to-gap power. Registered a 95mph exit velocity. Showed above average athleticism for his size by running a 7.1 60 yard dash time. Also had a 2.08-2.15 seconds pop time behind the plate. 

Dawson Fietsam OF/LHP Trinity Christian Academy, FL (2019)
Uncommitted, athletic, compact body with fast twitch tools. Started the day running a 6.93 60 yard dash time. Continued to show well in the outfield with on line throws topping out at 86 mph. Where he really stood out was with the bat. Smooth, left handed stroke with potential pull side power and showed the ability to gap-to-gap. Great feel for the barrel, also was 82-83 mph on mound with an average breaking ball.
