Mike Maerz
Director of Florida Operations/Area Scout

From August 1-4th, the Prep Baseball Report Future Games will take place at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN, just north of Indianapolis. This one-of-a-kind event will feature the best uncommitted Class of 2020/2021 prospects from our 35-plus state coverage area.

The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2020/2021 prospects. Last year, more than 250 college coaches from all over the country were in attendance, making it arguably the most heavily recruited event of the summer.

Leading up to the event, we will highlight each team member of Team Florida through a full breakdown. Today we take a look at 2020 MIF Lucas Ismaili of East Lake HS, FL:

Scouting Report

1/27/18- Lean, athletic frame standing at 5-foot-11, 155 pounds with quick twitch. Offensively, he starts from a wide base with minimal movement before his load. Displayed a short swing through the zone with quick hands, good-hand eye coordination, and a feel for the barrel as he consistently drove the ball all over the field during batting practice. This translated during the game when he ripped a line drive single up the middle for an easy base hit. Registered a 90 mph exit velocity in the cage. As he continues to become more physical with his frame, look for Ismaili to see a jump in gap-to-gap power. In the field, he showed athletic actions, range, and sure hands with accurate throws across the diamond that topped out at 82 mph. Clocked in at 7.33 seconds for his 60 yard dash time. Athletic middle infielder who will be a good follow as he continues to mature.

09/17/16- The 5-foot-9, 135 pound middle infielder showed some potential to be a very solid right handed hitter. From a wide base with minimal movement in the load, he showed above average bat speed with quick hands through the zone resulting in line drive after line drive in batting practice. The path through the zone works and will be an above average hitter as he becomes stronger. Defensively, he showed above average actions for his class, With good footwork and rhythm to and through the baseball he showed the ability to play the shortstop position at the next level. The hands work really well and the arm needs to get stronger, but the tools all project to play at the next level as he gets bigger and stronger.
