The Underclass Games expanded to three dates in 2019 to help see as many uncommitted underclassmen from around the state and evaluate for not only college coaches, but for the 2019 Future Games. Each Underclass Games feature a group of top uncommitted prospects who go through a pro-style workout followed by a game. Today we take a look at the players who attended the Underclass Games at UCF, led by trio of players invited to the Future Games and one invited to the Junior Future Games.

Jacob Rowe OF / SS / Ridgeview, FL / 2022 Athletic and average frame at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action with average carry and accuracy. Average hands with quick footwork and clean exchange and plays on heels some. Athletic setup at the plate with some barring in the load and a long stride. Balance is average with a level bat path and line drive swing and average bat speed with 84 mph exit velocity.

 

 

Mason Hixenbaugh 2B / SS / Lake Wales, FL / 2022 Strong body frame at 5-foot-8,183 pounds. Short loose arm action and some carry on throws with some accuracy. Average hands with clean exchange and plays through the ball with average footwork. Balance setup at the plate with a smooth load and short stride. Stays balanced at the plate with below average bat speed with 74 exit velocity. Line drive hitter with level bat path and stiff movements in the swing, makes it hard to repeat.

 

 

Kiran Ramjeet SS / RHP / Montverde Acadmey, FL / 2021 Athletic and average frame at 5-foot-6, 165 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action on throws with average carry and accuracy. Average hands with fluid footwork and clean exchange and plays through the ball. Crouch setup at the plate with a smooth load and small leg kick with short stride. Balanced approach with 76 exit velocity. Line drive hitter with level bat path and some rhythm with the swing. On the mound, he worked 72-77 mph with the fastball and 65-69 mph on the curveball.

 

 

Mason Scroggie 3B / RHP / Trinity Catholic, FL / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 91 / POS: 9 Strong frame at 6-foot, 200 pounds. Throws from the high 3/4 arm slot with average arm speed with fastball sitting 81-82 and slider sitting 73-75 and tight sharp break with near fastball arm speed. Has short arm action with some rhythm and commands all pitches. Balanced setup at the plate with a toe touch and short stride and has strong lower half. Good balance with swing and above average bat speed with exit velocity at 88. Line drive hitter with level to uphill bat path and shows pull side power.

 

 

Jeremy Weaver RHP / OF / Winter Haven, FL / 2022 Athletic and lanky frame at 6-foot, 160 pounds with room for growth. Throws from the high 3/4 arm slot with average arm speed and short arm action. Fastball sitting 81-83 mph, curveball at 68-69 with a 10-4 gradual break and near fastball arm speed. Commands all pitches for strikes and moves all in and out well. Easy effort with motion and stays balanced while staying in line to home with delivery. Smooth rhythm and finishes athletically to field position well.

 

 

Ashton Wilson SS / 3B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2022 Athletic and lanky frame at 5-foot-11, 155 pounds with room for growth. Short and loose arm action and some carry and accuracy on throws. Connor Manning RHP / 1B / Elite Squad Baseball Academy , FL / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 67 / POS: 15 Athletic and strong frame at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds. Throws from the 3/4 arm slot with average arm speed with fastball ranged from 79-82 in his first inning and 82-86 mph in his second. Slider 70-72 and late sharp break with near fastball arm speed, changeup at 76-71 with near fastball arm speed and sink. Has lowered the arm slot and was inconsistent early. Made an adjustment the second inning in which he threw more strikes. Short arm action and easy effort with some rhythm and stays in line with delivery to home.

Kyle Bazler 1B / Nease, FL / 2021 Strong frame at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds. Stiff arm action with throws with average strength and accuracy. Average hands and slow footwork with clean exchange and plays through the ball at first base. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load with a short stride and can use lower half better. Bat speed is above average with 90 exit velocity with a line drive swing and level bat path. Has strength throughout the frame and showed some bat to ball skills in the game.

 

 

Hayden Carson RHP / 1B / Saint Andrew's , FL / 2021 Athletic and strong frame at 6-foot-1,195 pounds. Throws from the high 3/4 arm slot with average arm speed and short arm action. Fastball sitting 79-81 mph and curveball 65-66 with an 11/5 break with good depth and near fastball arm speed, changeup at 67-68 and slows arms down. Commands all pitches for strikes and works low in the zone. Some rhythm but tends to fly open with delivery.

Alex Carmichael 2B / OF / Academy At The Lakes, FL / 2021 Athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 130 pounds with room for growth. Loose arm action with some accuracy and average arm strength on throws. Sitting 80-81 mph with the fastball, slider 71-72 mph with gradual break, changeup at 70-72 mph with some sink and commands all pitches for strikes. Easy effort and stays in line to home with delivery, high ceiling for growth on the mound. Moves fluid in the infield with footwork and clean exchange while fielding everything out front of his body.
