2021 Future Games Spotlight: Dillon Moquin

The 2021 PBR Future Games has come and gone. The event featured the top uncommitted 2023 and 2024 players around the country representing their home state in front of over 350+ college coaches. Team Florida was a fun and talented squad who showcased their abilities all week. They would go 2-0-1 with wins over Carolina and Mid-Atlantic and a tie vs Georgia.

Post event, we will be spotlighting each member of Team Florida. Continuing with 2023 OF Dillon Moquin. Moquin is a 6-foot-1, 185 pound outfielder from Stoneman Douglas. He plays travel ball with Eagles Baseball. Moquin impressed during the Future Games workout. Arm works loose an easy from the outfield up to 92 mph. Showed electric bat speed with the ability to turn the barrel. 99 mph exit velo showing present pull side power.

Scouting Report

6/23/21

6-foot-1, 185-pound physical athletic build. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 90 mph. (64.62 mph bat speed average). (18.63 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth compact load, then used a controlled stride. Had explosive bat speed, short level swing plane and high finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contacts. Up the middle line drive approach. Solid when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 93 mph;had sure hands, athletic footwork, and a clean packing exchange. Fields the ball deep, movements laterally were average. Had a high ¾ slot and a long loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.9.

Positional Profile: OF/RHP - Uncommitted, Young, athletic left handed hitter who has a lot of present tools, especially offensively, The swing will continue to mature, but the foundation is there for above average power with solid feel to hit.
Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Carries strength in the lower half, upper half has room to mature and add strength.
Defense: Solid outfielder, tracked balls well, projects in the corner outfield
Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Above average arm with some carry.
Hit: LHH. Stands tall, leg kick trigger, got into more of a stride in game and into a strong, balanced lower half.  Works inside out and showed the ability to drive the ball the other way in gameplay. Has present bat speed and strength with more to come as he matures.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity. Present power to the opposite field and as he matures and learns to pull the ball, should show above average power to all fields.
Run: 7.09 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Stands tall, fairly simple, could use the lower half more effectively to drive down the mound and use the strength in the lower half.
Arm Action: RH. Fairly compact, comes straight back to slight offline, works quick and potential as he matures and learns to sync everything together.
FB: T84, 79-82 mph. Some late life when gets to extension
CB: 67 mph. Some feel to spin with depth
CH: 73-78 mph. Depth and fade.

Positional Profile: OF/RHP 
Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Athletic, strong lower half frame.
Defense:  Controlled gather, athletic footwork, gets into an explosive position for throw. 
Arm: RH. OF - 89 mph. Quick action, athletic, arm strength is present.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, leg kick allowing weight shift to be in rhythm, quiet hands, slight barrel tilt. Works on down hill path, natural lift, twitchy actions on contact.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity. Line drive gap to gap approach, projectable power. 
Run: 7.27 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, finishes upright.
Arm Action: RH. High 3/4 slot. Short to long extended arm action. 
FB: T82, 77-80 mph. Running action,
CB: 67-68 mph. 10/4 shape, left to right action. 
CH: 74-75 mph. Run action.
