The 2021 Junior State Games are set to begin this weekend at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Plenty of highly touted uncommitted and committed prospects across the Sunshine State from the 2023 class will take the diamond in Daytona.

The event is broken down into 4 regions, North, South, East, and West, with the winning region able to choose their own Mizuno glove or wood bat. Take a look at the roster HERE.

Today, we will continue to preview each team at the 2021 Junior State Games. Check out this year's West squad.

West Region

The West Region is the defending Junior State Games champions and has a loaded team looking to repeat. Some of these West players are back after winning the Sophomore State Games last year. On the mound, the West is led by a trio of southpaws in
Cooper Consiglio (NC State), Hunter Dietz (USF), and Ryan Rushing, as well as right handers Trevor Harrison and John Sayres Jr.

Behind the plate the West returns Alex Monile, a key contributor at the 2020 Sophomore State Games, and Future Gamer Jacob McKenzie.

In the corner infield is switch hitting power first baseman James Hankerson, another big Sophomore State Games standout last year in Landon O’Donnell, and Tad Brooks. Up the middle is one of the top two ways in the state Landen Maroudis (NC State), as well as Jacob Riegel (USF), Jaden Holder, and Keeton Burroughs.

Rounding out the West is the outfield featuring FSU commit Andrew Duncan, USF commit Blake Opie, Daniel Irazarry, and LaPlace Sallis.

The West is geared up and are the favorites to repeat as Junior State Games champs.
