2021 Senior State Games: South Preview

Doug Freeman
Florida Executive Director

The 2021 PBR Florida Senior State Games kick off this Saturday and Sunday at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, the spring home of the New York Mets. The event will feature many of the top 2022’s competing for regional bragging rights through a showcase and three games of the two day span. This event is broken down by region, as players are separated into teams of North, South, East, and West Florida.

The 2021 Senior State Games is the second running of the event after an inaugural 2020 event. Last year’s event featured 3 players who were selected in the 2021 MLB Draft and 32 players who have since committed and are starting their college baseball careers now. This year we have another talented roster with committed and uncommitted players. We expect the stands to be filled with pro scouts and colleges to watch the Senior State Games.

Today, we will start previewing the players who will be in attendance at the 2021 Senior State Games. We will break down the rosters by region, continuing with the South.

South Region

The South Region brings a talented group on both the hitting and pitching side with some of the best 2022s throughout South Florida. On the mound, the South rolls out with Texas Tech commit LHP Alex Walsh, Virginia commit RHP Evan Dobias, Pacific commit RHP/OF Jacob Smith, and uncommitted RHPs Lou Paolillo and Jaxon Pastore

Behind the plate is Kentucky commit Austin Fawley, and uncommitted Eddiel Tolentino and KC Anchors. In the corner infield, we have Stetson commit Jayden Hylton, Miami commit Adrian Dominguez, and uncommitted Jack Bello who will also be on the mound. The middle infield consists of FSW commit Eddie-Boe Rodriguez, Wake Forest commit Jesus Pena, and uncommitted Logan Smith and Jonathan Xuereb, who will also be on the mound.

Rounding out the South roster is the outfield featuring Pacific commit Jacob Smith, and uncommitted David BauerJameson CaroManny Ramirez Jr, and Bobby Fasulo.

The South looks to be one of the deepest teams in attendance.
