The 2022 High School baseball season has officially kicked off. Each week we will update our Power25 HS Rankings with Risers, Fallers, and Newcomers to the rankings each week. We look forward to covering high school games this spring and hearing your feedback on who you think should be ranked where. Take a look at our Week 1 update.

Risers

No. 4 Lake Brantley

Lake Brantley jumps from No. 6 to 4 after a 3-0 start in Week 1. With wins over Seminole, Dr. Phillips, and Lake Howell, Lake Brantley showed they can score runs in bunches with 22 runs in three games.

No. 15 Miami Springs

Springs got off to a good start in 2022 with a 2-0 Week 1 with decisive wins over Brito and Ferguson. Springs has added several key transfers including 2023's David Davila (FSU) and Brandon Olivera (Miami) that should really help bolster the core of the team led by Jason Torres.

Fallers

No. 10 Stoneman Douglas

Douglas came into 2022 as the No. 2 team in our rankings and one of the top teams in the country. An opening night 4-3 loss to Taravella was a surprise to many but the Eagles bounced back with wins over Cardinal Gibbons and St. John Paul II. Expect Stoneman Douglas to make their way back into the top 5 sooner than later.

No. 13 Bartram Trail

Bartram has a very talented team but disappointed in Week 1 going 2-2. They started their season losing to Fletcher in a game where they struck out 19 times. They went on to play three Georgia schools, losing to South Forsyth and beating Mill Creek and Brunswick. Bartram has the talent to be very successful in 2022 and expect them to get back into the top 10.

NR Hagerty

Hagerty started the year No. 11 in our Preseason Power25 but Week 1 was not a good one for the Huskies. They started with a 10-3 opening night loss to Windermere, and followed it with losses to Olympia and University. The Huskies were outscored 27-6 in the Week 1 games.

Newcomers

No. 9 Taravella

Taravella was very impressive in Week 1 with two major upsets. Opening night, they knocked off Stoneman Douglas 4-3 then upset Doral Academy 4-1. The Trojans were extremely impressive beating tough competition and enter the Power25 at No. 9.

No. 23 Bishop Verot

Bishop Verot was featured as a Bubble Team on our Preseason Power25 and quickly earned a spot in the rankings going 3-0 in Week 1. The Vikings knocked off North Port, Community School of Naples, and Neumann in Week 1 and outscored their opponents 20-4.

No. 25 Windermere

Windermere sneaks their way into the No. 25 spot with a 3-0 Week 1 start. The Wolverines knocked off Preseason No. 11 Hagerty decisively, then went out to beat Olympia and University. Windermere is lead by Miami commit Blake Cyr and shouldn't be a team to overlook on your schedule.
