Risers

No. 3 Stoneman Douglas

After an opening night loss to Taravella, Stoneman Douglas looks back to being a national powerhouse. They have gone 4-0 since the loss, 2-0 this week beating St. Thomas Aquinas and Flanagan. The Eagles have outscored opponents 33-3 since that opening night loss and find their way back up to No. 3.

No. 18 George Jenkins

George Jenkins is out to a 5-0 start so far in 2022 while scoring runs in bunches. Week 2, they defeated Lake Gibson 13-0 and Lakeland 11-1. They are outscoring opponents 45-6 and have been a very well rounded group so far.

Fallers

No. 10 Jesuit

Jesuit went to Georgia in Week 2 as part of their very tough 2022 schedule. The lost an extra innings battle to Dylan Lesko and Buford, as well as two more losses to Marist and Houston County. They were able to defeat Alabama’s Gadsden City making their Week 2 record 1-3. Credit Jesuit for putting a difficult schedule together, but the Tigers will still fall to No. 10.

No. 19 Bloomingdale

Bloomingdale lost their second game of the season this week in a 5-4 defeat to Plant City. The Bulls bounced back with a 10-0 win over Brandon following the loss. Bloomingdale hasn’t looked their sharpest so far in 2022 giving up 17 runs already in 5 games. Look for the Bulls’ senior leadership to help get the team back on track.

NR Chiles

Chiles had a tough Week 2, and have dropped from the Power25 rankings. They opened their week with a 6-2 loss to North Florida Christian on Wednesday. They would then lose 3-2 to Forest and 2-1 to Buchholz. A disappointing Week 2 drops Chiles out of the Power25.

Newcomers

No. 23 Plant City

The Raiders have looked good early in 2022. 4-0 to start including a big upset win over No. 19 Bloomingdale. Plant City is outscoring opponents 32-5 so far. Pitching has been stellar with Adan Longoria, Preston Rogers, and Chase Mobley all posting ERAs under 1.

No. 24 Mater Lakes Academy

Mater Lakes has been very impressive so far in 2022. 5-0 and outscoring opponents 67-9. Mater Lakes has been dominating their opponents and had a huge upset win over American Heritage this past Thursday.
