2022 FL Preseason All-State: Team Red Analysis

The 2022 FL Preseason All-State took place Saturday, January 22th and Sunday, January 23rd at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford, FL. The two day event featured players from the 2022-2026 classes participating in a batting practice on day one followed by a pro-style workout and gameplay on day two in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.

Team Red Analysis

KC Anchors C / 1B / Elite Squad Academy, FL / 2022

Union College (KY) Commit, 6-foot-1, 205-pound strong athletic frame. Solid in the box, Anchors had an exit velocity of 91 mph. (71.9 mph bat speed average). (22.5 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall stance with a rhythmic load, then used a short stride. Has explosive bat speed, short swing plane and high finish. He showed a lot of loud contact during his round. Gap to gap line drive approach. Behind the plate, throw downs to second topped out at 76 mph; showed smooth athletic feet, soft hands, and a quick transfer. showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.96-2.07. Athletic setup with a lot of flexibility. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a quick arm action with a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.24.

Will Barter C / OF / Pensacola Catholic, FL / 2023

Tulane Commit, 6-foot, 160-pound athletic frame. Above average during batting practice, Barter had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. (67.3 mph bat speed average). (21.5 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced crouched stance with a slow controlled load, then uses a short stride. Has average bat speed, short swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While catching, his best recorded velocity during throw downs was clocked at 77 mph; has consistent hands, a quick clean transfer, and smooth feet. displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.95-2.04. Athletic setup with tons of flexibility. Used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.75.

Nicholas Bofill OF / 1B / Westminster Christian, FL / 2023

6-foot-2, 185-pound solid athletic build. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. (73.4 mph bat speed average). (22.3 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced stance with a compact load, then uses a short controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, shows a simple loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up multiple balls with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic recorded an outfield position velocity of 84 mph; has soft consistent hands, a quick clean exchange, and rhythmic feet. Fields the ball to the side, movements laterally were athletic. Used a long arm action and a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Recorded a 60 time of 7.0 at the event.

Pierce Boles RHP / 3B / Trinity Christian Academy (Lake Worth), FL / 2023

6-foot-2, 210-pound strong athletic frame. Projectable on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a long arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Balance point is tall with an even shoulders during delivery. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 87-89 mph; has slight running action and command around the zone with heavy movement. (Max spin 2159; Avg 2046). Throws a sharp changeup (79-82) that has down in the zone command and fading action. Has a tight slider (76-77) that shows slurvey action and down in the zone control. (Max spin 1935; Avg 1935).

Holden Brauner OF / LHP / Windermere, FL / 2023

5-foot-10, 175-pound lean athletic build. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 95 mph. (68.9 mph bat speed average). (23.0 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall balanced stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was electric, showed a short swing plane and high finish. Had tons of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 86 mph; has consistent hands, smooth rhythmic feet, and a quick natural exchange. Fields the ball to the side, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.87. Solid on the mound, used a ¾ arm angle with a long arm action while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 82-84 mph; had running action and command in the zone with heavy movement. (Max spin 2241; Avg 2128). Shows command around the zone and fading action on his sharp changeup (74-76). He showed down in the zone command and sweeping action on his tight slider (69-70). (Max spin 2234; Avg 2234).

Grayson Christie RHP / OF / Holy Trinity Melbourne, FL / 2024

6-foot, 174-pound lean solid build. Solid on the mound, using a loose arm action he showed consistent arm speed from a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has an athletic balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 79-82 mph; had spotty command and slight running action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2023; Avg 1716).

Christian Duarte C / 3B / Freedom, FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 200-pound athletic build. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 96 mph. (74.1 mph bat speed average). (20.4 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed was flashed quick, had a simple uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 80 mph; had quick footwork, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. While catching, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 77 mph; has soft hands, quick feet, and a natural transfer. recorded pop times of 2.02-2.11. Some flexibility and clean setup. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.68.

Jadyn Fielder 2B / Sunshine State Elite Academy , FL / 2022

Florida A&M Commit, 6-foot, 205-pound athletic build. Solid at the plate, Fielder had an exit velocity of 93 mph. Starts in a quiet athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Has a simple upward swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Found some barrels through his rounds. Solid while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 80 mph; has consistent feet, firm hands, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action.

Daniel Gonzalez 1B / LHP / ACS Internacional School (London England), FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 200-pound athletic build. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. (79.6 mph bat speed average). (21.2 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced quiet stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed is present, shows a simple uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found multiple barrels through his round. Line drive approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 72 mph; shows consistent feet, a natural exchange, and sure hands. Jeremiah Henderson OF / Robinson, FL / 2023

6-foot-3, 200-pound athletic lengthy frame. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. (64.8 mph bat speed average). (17.9 mph hand speed average). Begins in a quiet tall stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, shows a loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.56.

Alexander Kastensmidt 3B / SS / Buchholz, FL / 2023

6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic build. Solid during batting practice, Kastensmidt had a max exit velocity of 93 mph. (77.6 mph bat speed average). (20.9 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is quick, uses a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 80 mph; showed sure hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Rilee Lowery 1B / RHP / J.M. Tate, FL / 2023

6-foot-3, 180-pound strong build. Solid in the box, Lowery's best exit velocity was 82 mph. (61.4 mph bat speed average). (18.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a tall quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was efficient, and showed a simple loose swing plane. Line drive approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 78 mph; had consistent footwork, a natural exchange, and soft hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a 60 time of 8.02 at the event. On the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 82-84 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 1916; Avg 1756). His changeup (75-77) showed slight fading action. Donovan Murdock 3B / RHP / Apopka, FL / 2023

Armani Newton OF / John Carroll Catholic, FL / 2022

6-foot-2, 195-pound athletic strong frame. Solid in the box, Newton's best exit velocity was 95 mph. (73.0 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled leg kick. Bat speed is quick, has a simple upward swing plane and balanced finish. Drew Reaves SS / 3B / J.M. Tate, FL / 2023

6-foot-2, 190-pound athletic build. Solid at the plate, Reaves best exit velocity was 89 mph. (67.2 mph bat speed average). (23.1 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has a short simple swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 84 mph; showed soft hands, quick feet, and a clean exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Clocked a time of 7.22 in the 60-yard dash.

De'Sean Rogers OF / RHP / Winter Haven, FL / 2022

6-foot, 178-pound athletic frame. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. (69.5 mph bat speed average). (21.3 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Had quick bat speed, short simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. Alex Walsh LHP / OF / Oxbridge Academy, FL / 2022

Texas Tech Commit, 6-foot-4, 180-pound. Athletic on the mound, showed quick arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed strong balance point with downhill shoulders. Lands soft with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 86-88 mph. Has some running action. (Max spin 2329; Avg 2237).
