'22 Junior Future Games: Workout Standouts + Early Game Recaps

The 2022 PBR Junior Future Games kicked off Tuesday, July 28th at LakePoint. Team Florida 13u & 14u went through their pro-style workout followed by games the last two days. Today we will highlight the standouts from the JFG workout as well as a recaps of our early game action.

Team Florida JFG Recaps


Game 1 vs Team Illinois 13u

Cameron Hanes took the mound for Team FL in game 1. Working 3 clean innings with 4 strikeouts and no walks. Hudson Sapp would close things down for Team FL, striking out 2 in his 1 inning of work. 

Offensively the bats were hot. Collecting 8 hits in 4 innings. Multiple hit days from Camden Boehm and Alex Wise. Daniel Padilla, Jackson Haughey, and JD James all had hits of their own. CJ Wall, JD James, and Alex Wise had multiple RBIs. Hudson Sapp was a OBP machine walking twice and getting hit by a pitch. 

Game 2 vs Team MoKan 13u

Things started off well for Team FL in the top of the 1st. Camden Boehm led off with a double followed by a Carson Cocco single and Bryce Besece double. JD James walks and then with 2-outs Hudson Sapp clears the bases with a 3 RBI double. CJ Wall singles to score Sapp. 

Camden Boehm leadoff the 2nd with a triple. He would later score on a Bryce Besece sac-fly. The bottom of the 2nd is where things went haywire for Team FL, losing by a final score of 21-6. 

Back in action Friday against Team Alabama at 10:15 AM.

Game 1 vs. Team Illinois 14u

Kasey Mink singled to lead off the game. Charles Messina would later single, scoring Mink. Parker Granse got the ball for Team FL and worked a masterful two innings. Striking out 4 on just 19 pitches. Team FL would add 3 more runs in the 2nd inning on singles by Eli Millian, Kaden Waechter, Cadyn Rawley, Randy Ruiz, Yavier Rosendo, and a 2 RBI double from Dylan Messina. Sporadic hits from Team FL over the next 3 innings. Including singles from Eli Millian and Michael Hough, who also stole 2 bases, and then a ground-rule double from Lucas Cannady. Erick Robles worked 2 clean innings of his own on the mound, striking out 4 on 21 pitches. Illinois rallied in the bottom of the 6th to walk off 5-4.

Game 2 vs. Team Missouri 14u

Ilias Mamea and Randy Ruiz went 2 innings each both striking out 2 for Team FL. Offensively Team FL had multi hit days from Cooper Riley, Presley Moseley, and Angel Rodriguez (2B). Ethan Barclay, Michael Hough, and Lucas Cannady all had hits of their own. Cannady led the way with 2 RBIs with Erick Robles and Angel Rodriguez contributing 1 each. Team FL would ultimately end up tying Team Missouri 4-4. 

Back in action Friday at 5 PM vs. Team Arizona
