American Heritage Delray Upsets Palm Beach Gardens Behind Finnvold

American Heritage Delray would upset No 13 Palm Beach Gardens 4-1 on Tuesday night at home. The senior Florida commit Carsten Finnvold would get the start for the Stallions and after allowing a run on two hits in the first would settle in and end up going 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts and the lone run on the night.

He would keep a talented and deep offensive lineup of Palm Beach Gardens mostly quiet throughout the night. Senior FSU recruit Cade Bush would double home the run in the first, but the Gators would fail to get anything else going throughout the night.
Dominic Stagliano would get the start for Palm Beach Gardens and was solid early, but a costly error in the third would give up a pair of runs and the lead and eventually chase him from the game. Tobin Moran looked solid yet again in relief, showing his fastball with life and above average breaking ball.
Finnvold would dominate, mixing three pitches for strikes. Not an overpowering fastball, but located to all parts of the strike zone. Keeping hitters off balance with a solid curveball and plus changeup, he likely could have extended if not for a few longer at-bats early.
Zane Coppersmith, a strong and physical right hander, would come out and attack with a fastball that showed late life in the seventh. He would get the save, striking out the side while working around three walks and sealing the upset win for the Stallions.
