FL Fall ProCase: Player Analysis

The 2019 Fall ProCase took place September 7th at IMG Academy. Some of the top 2020’s as well as a select few 2021’s and 2022’s took part in a pro-style workout followed by a game. This event has seen some of the top players in the country come through over the last three years. This event was no different as we have another talented group. Today, we take a look at the breakdown with video of the 2019 Fall ProCase in alphabetical order.

Stetson recruit. Athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 166 pounds and has room for growth. Loose arm action and carry on throws with accuracy from the outfield. Plays through the ball and good first step on defense. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and strong lower half. Level bat path with rhythm in the swing to have gap to gap power. Swing played in the game where he stayed on time and on the barrel. Tough athletic player who came straight from football. A lot to like from Brazil.

Xavier Cintron SS / 2B / Cornerstone Charter, FL / 2021Athletic frame with room for growth at 5 foot 6, 155 pounds. Short loose arm action and carry on throws from the infield with average strength. Soft hands with quick and clean exchange when fielding and quality first step and range in the infield. Switch hitter who has leg kick and short stride from both sides of the plate to create rhythm. Level bat path and line drive hitter from each side and exit velo from left side is 78 and right side velo is 83.

Miami commit. Athletic and lanky frame at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds with room for growth. Loose arm action and accuracy on throws from the outfield with average arm strength. Quality first step and plays through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and average bat speed with 86 exit velo. As a LHP throws from the 3/4 arm slot and fly’s open some to 3rd base side on delivery. Sits 82-84 with the fastball with arm side run, 70-71 on the curveball with good depth, 76-77 on the slider with sharp break and 72-73 on the change up. Commands all pitches and has fastball arm speed with off speed.

Soft hands with fluid and quick footwork on groundballs and plays through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and strong lower half. Level bat path and gap to gap hitter and pull side power and above average bat speed with 89 mph exit velo. As a RHP throws sidearm arm slot and has sink on the fastball which sits 80-84, slider 63-66 and changeup 70-71.

Aggressive through the zone and has a chance to hit for above average power.

Above average bat speed with 90 exit velo, has level bat path and hits gap to gap with pull side power.

Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and strong lower half. Has above average bat speed with 98 exit velo, level bat path and power to all fields. Continued to prove that he can drive the ball with authority while staying simple and compact. Above average power potential.

Jacksonville recruit. Lanky and athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Short and clean arm action from the outfield with accuracy. Quality first step and plays through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate and smooth load and level bat path and gap to gap hitter. As a LHP throws from the ¾ arm slot and good life on the fastball sitting 83-86, curveball 72-73, slider 78-79 and changeup 78-80. Quality arm speed on all pitches and commands them all.

Very live and athletic frame. Has a lot of upside and is an above average athlete. Overall, he is one of the top uncommitted 2021s in the state.

Moves well behind the plate with good lateral movements blocking. Receives well with strong hands and quality pop times to 2nd with 1.89-2.0 and accuracy on the throws, clean transfer and good footwork. Switch hitter and from the right side has balance setup and rhythm in the swing with level/uphill bat path and hits gap to gap. Left side has balanced setup with some rhythm in the swing, can get long at times. Overall, he is a fairly low floor and high ceiling prospect who will make an impact at Miami if he makes it there.

Balanced, strong lower half and has a chance to hit for power.

Level bat path and gap to gap hitter with pull side power and above average bat speed with 87 exit velo.

Short and loose arm action from the outfield and infield and accurate on throws. Quality first step and good range with soft hands and plays through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate with a smooth load and rhythm in the swing. Level bat path and gap to gap hitter with above average bat speed of 91 exit velo. On the mound he attacked hitters with an 84-88 mph fastball and showed a feel for a curveball, slider and above average changeup. Will have a chance to impact as a two-way player.

Short and loose arm action on throws from the infield with above average arm strength with 85 velo. Soft and smooth hands with fluid footwork and clean exchange on plays with a quality first step. Has the actions and ability to be a well above average defender. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and above average bat speed with 88 exit velo. Level bat path with gap to gap type hitter with some pull side power. One of the most consistent hitters in his class. The swing is simple, but generates strength as he constantly stays on the barrel.

As a RHP throws from the ¾ arm slot and sits 83-87 with the fastball and 70-73 with the curveball. Throws strikes with both pitches and has some depth with the curveball.

Soft hands with fluid and quick footwork with clean exchange on plays. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and strong lower half. Level bat path and gap to gap hitter and pull side power with above average bat speed with 93 exit velo. As a RHP has ¾ arm slot and stays low in the zone with all pitches. Fastball 86-89 mph, curveball 70-71 with depth, slider 76-77 and changeup 72-73. Commands all pitches and fastball arm speed on off speed. Stays in line to home with delivery and repeats mechanics. Struggled with command at times, but has a high two-way ceiling.

Winthrop commit. Athletic and lanky frame at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action on throws from the infield Soft and smooth hands with quality first step and above average range. Stays tall on the setup with a long stride and barrel awareness. Average bat speed and level bat path with is a line drive hitter. A lot of upside in the frame and toolset with added strength and maturity.
