Jupiter, FL- In a 9a district matchup of the Jupiter Warriors and Palm Beach Central Broncos, it took nine innings to decide the winner. In a back and forth game that at any point looked like either team could come away with the win, it would take Anthony Servideo (Ole Miss) with a leadoff single, down by one in the bottom of the ninth, that would get past the right fielder for an inside the park homerun to start off the comeback and eventual win for Jupiter. Andrew Martinez (North Florida) would eventually hit a ground ball that would get away from the Bronco’s first basemen, scoring Reese Albert (FSU) from second to walk it off.

The 2017 LHP Zach Chivers set the tone for Jupiter going six innings, while giving up no runs on two hits while striking out eight. 2017 RHP Havier Sans and 2019 LHP Zac Lampton would match Chivers, but Lampton would leave the bases loaded with no outs after giving up one in the fifth. 2018 RHP Krishna Raj would come in, and in impressive fashion. Raj feature a ¾ slot with a fastball that ranged from 85-89 mph with some late life and a slider that was 72-73 mph, which he would use to strike out Servideo, Ward and Albert in order to keep the score 1-0 to end the threat in the fifth.

The Bronco’s, seemingly feeding off the big shutdown of the top of Jupiter’s lineup with the bases load, would come out in the top of the sixth and answer back with a two RBI single from 2017 OF Brandon LIberto to take a 2-1 lead.

The score would remain 2-1 until the bottom of the seventh when the Broncos would bring in 2017 RHP Cameron Lauer (Palm Beach State). 2018 INF Robby Stone would leadoff with a hit by pitch. Following an error on the sac bunt attempt, 2017 LF Noah Otero-Vargas would tie the game with an RBI single to left. Lauer would settle in, shutting down the Warriors in the eight. He showed life on the fastball, with some effort, but seemed heavy with arm side action that ranged from 89-91 touch 92 mph. He also showed a curveball that ranged from 72-74 mph with some depth.

2018 C Jake Simon would leadoff the ninth. Simon was impressive all evening behind the plate, consistently receiving, blocking and throwing well. He caught the only runner that attempted to steal with a 1.95 pop time with an extremely clean and quick transfer and strong arm. In the ninth, Simon would come through with the bat with a leadoff double for Palm Beach Central. He would eventually score on an error by Jupiter’s pitcher, giving the Bronco’s a 3-2. Jupiter would bring in 2019 RHP Jake Garland (Miami) to shut down the rally. Garland came in with a heavy fastball that ranged from 86-87 mph. He also showed a slider at 70-73 mph with depth, striking out both batters he faced, holding the Bronco’s lead to 3-2 going into the bottom of the ninth.

As we know, Servideo would then leadoff with the single turned inside the park homerun and Martinez would hit a ground ball to the first basemen that would get away allowing Albert to score from second for the walk-off 4-3 win in an incredible game.
