FL Insider: Palm Beach Uncommitted Standouts

By Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

As the summer is now in full swing and the 2017 draft is completed, we shift our attention to the many talented uncommitted players still available. Over 200 teams took part in a six day tournament in south Florida. Although the rain hampered many of the match-ups, we were still able to see quite a few talented uncommitted players, their breakdowns are below.

JUSTIN KOEHLER 3B / RHP / JAMES W. MITCHELL, FL / 2019

Looks lean and athletic. 6-foot-1, 170 pounds. Showed a quick arm. Fastball has life down in the zone, working 85-86 mph with tilt.  Also showed a 75 mph curveball that looks like a potential swing-and-miss pitch with depth. Has feel and is a high follow.
