FL Preseason All-State Spotlight: Evan Dobias

The Florida Preseason All-State has quickly become the premier Preseason event in the state of Florida. Over the first two years there have been over 100 committed players in attendance and counting. This event is held for the top 2019s-2022s throughout the state to kick off the Prep Baseball Report's spring high school baseball coverage. 

We will begin to spotlight each and every player in attendance. Today, we examine Evan Dobias (Westminster Academy, 2022). The right-handed pitcher and outfielder is a promising prospect, currently ranked No. 6 in Florida's Class of 2022.

Scouting Report

11/08/18 - One of the biggest standouts of the entire day. He has an athletic and projectable frame. The arm works clean and compact. The delivery is simple and repeatable, with the fastball working 84-85 mph with easy, late life. The slider also has tilt and the potential to be a plus pitch. Has late, two plane action at 73-74 mph. Also showed a feel for a changeup at 78-79 mph. Projectable with potential starter potential with easy delivery and three pitch mix.
